We read all of the positive reviews on trip advisor and the tour definitely lived up to everything that we had read. We learned things and saw areas of Porto that we would never have come across as tourists. Our guide was really passionate about Porto and very knowledgeable too! We were lucky to have two other locals join us... More

Normally, we never go on tours preferring to explore on our own but this was one of the most unusual tours we came across (this is probably why we chose it!) and we totally loved it. Our guide Gui started a wonderful discussion on Portuguese history, politics, government involvement in social problems, and it was amazing how other tourists joined... More

A very interesting romp through the back streets and forgotten buildings of Porto. Our guide Pedro explained the social, political and economic history and present of the city really well and showed us places you would never go on a "normal" tour. Reminded me of a GOOD university field trip! Would definitely recommend to anyone with an interest in architecture,... More

Gui was our guide on the most unique and informative tours I've ever been on, in any city. She knows so much (and knows many people in the city) and is very good at explaining the current political and housing climate in Porto. She also provided very unique "behind the scenes" access to what would otherwise be hidden parts of... More

Ok...If you are a die hard conservative this tour is probably not for you. If you want to see the real Porto, and understand its people, politics and economy( from a liberal point of view mostly) then go on this tour. There is lots of walking involved but the guide(a female Gui?) made every minute worthwhile. The tour was about... More

We took the tour not knowing much about Porto and instead of getting historic facts and figures which every tourist gets, we got glimpses behind the scenes. Abandoned buildings (with a drone passing by), stairs to backyard farming places / urban gardening and a lot of background information about politics, the current crisis and architecture. It was definetely worthwhile, sometimes... More

Really awesome tour showing us a perspective on porto that you wouldn't get otherwise. Particularly for us (from Berlin) hearing about things from a southern european perspective is eye-opening and very important. Lots of great photographs and things to be had as well! Also a very good walk!

We had a great time with the worst tours! Definitely an unconventional tour, but that is what made it so interesting. You will walk a lot, see a great deal of the city, and listen to insightful, self deprecating commentary. The focus is mainly on architecture and the economy with political views thrown in too. It was a memorable way... More

The day we planned our tour, the rain came pooring down, so we joked about the worst worst tour ;-). It really was an alternative tour, we visites all kinds of architectural sightseeings that brought us through the city from 1800 untill 200. Great old, new, abanonded and renewed buildings and with that a shot of politics. That's the way... More

this is one of the best walking tours i've done. you see a side of the city that nearly all tourists (and even some locals) don't even know about. the tour started out in an artist's squat space and included trips to community gardens, abandoned factories and other places. our guide, gui, really explained how life is in porto -...
