We attended the Sandeman cellars as a pre-wedding outing with a group of around 30 people, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and seeing first hand how port is made. Was in awe at the oldest vintage port bottle being from 1904!! My children were well impressed! The tasting of the white and tawny port was a cherry on the cake.... More

We loved this tour of the Sandemann port cellars in Porto. The tour guide gave a great history of both Sandemann and the history of the Port business in the area. Followed by a tasting of one up to several varietals. Met some nice people and toured a beautiful and interesting building. Easy to walk to. No pressure to buy.

Timed tour of about 40 mins. Very interesting guided tour which made me appreciate the difference between types of port. Also tasted two different types of port.

This was a great tour and a wonderful marketing lesson for would be business students. I enjoyed seeing the wooden barrels and learning about making port wines. Be careful not to get in a large tour group as it was hard at times to hear our Zoro-look-alike guide. I also understand that languages spoken vary by tour. The tour itself... More

We went to the basic wine cellar tour with tasting of two wines for 5€. We were lucky to arrive there a bit before 5 and at that time an English tour was just about to begin. The tour guide was wearing the Sandemann logo outfit and the lighting in the cellars was beautiful. I had done one tour in... More

Whilst Sandemans is by far the easiest Port Wine Cellar to spot along the banks of the Douro, you should take care to make suitable enquiries. The Sandemans website is quite correct in advising that they run several tours daily (each with a tasting session to follow), however, BE WARNED ... each tour is in ONE language only - you... More

We didnt actually tour the cellar as we had already toured one of the others, However Sandemann has a great terrace outside, where you can sip their lovely port sitting under shade and with a view of Porto. I loved it.

The basic tour of 30 minutes takes you through the actual Sandemann cellars while the guide recounts facts about the company as well as port wines in general. After the guided tour there is the tasting at the big hall. The basic tour includes 2 different ports, we were offered white and ruby. The tour was interesting and there was... More

Our group thoroughly enjoyed the tour, the history, the multi media display and the port tasting! Nice contrast to the smaller operations on the Douro
