This tower can be seen from almost everywhere in central Porto and offers a narrow spiral staircase with small windows with the views over the city. Nothing to write home about though.

Clérigos Tower is one of the main attractions in Porto and one can understand why: once you reach the top (you have 2 different levels) you have a magnificent 360º view of the entire city. The ticket is affordable (3€ or 5€ depending if you go during the day or night periods) but prepare yourself to wait in the line... More

The best way to approach visiting the tower & church, particularly at busy times, is to buy the tower ticket & join the queue before visiting the church . Even then we had to wait 45 mins for access to the tower. The volume of people climbing the tower was very carefully controlled, due to steep & narrow stairs, however... More

Gets pretty crowded but the view is woth while. At the top you get a view of Porto from all angles. I went closer to 6 in late summer so it was still bright enough to see the beauty of the city but not so hot.. The lines can be very long... so the best is to buy the ticket... More

I read about the crowds and the narrow steps and I was about to give this a miss but I'm glad I didn't. We went at about 11.30 and it was fine. Yes, there's quite a few people and the way up us the same as they way down but only in the last bit you actually need to negotiate... More

This is a must see if you come to Porto. The view is breathtaking. The church is beautiful. The climb down from the church can be tricky in some spots if you have small children, but again, the view from the top is worth it!!

You can spot Clerigos Tower from many places in Porto, and it's definitely worth the climbing. Difficult stairs precede incredible view. And since you're already there, don't miss the church, it's beautiful, if you're lucky maybe you'll listen to a pipe organ concert.

One of the most famous buildings of Porto city, this tower belonging to a small church and it is one of the highest points of the city, that's why it offers one of the best or the only 360º view over Porto. The climb is huge, hundreds of steps and narrow, can be not very easy for children, also after... More
