Well worth the wait (about an hour when I visited), though I would recommend going earlier in the day as the queue should be shorter. Lots of steps up to enjoy the view. The exhibition on liturgical art and the religious organisation were also very interesting. During my visit the music in the church was beautiful.

Expect a queue and to move slowly up the levels eventually arriving at the viewing platform. It is steeped in history and clearly really popular. We were there on a hot day and the heat in the corridors and landings was oppressive at times to be relieved by an open window in places. At the top there is some congestion... More

Get there between 9-11 to avoid queues. We still had to wait 35min in hot corridors but did get some breeze from the occasional window. It is important that they don't let too many people up at once, as once right at the top it is gridlocked if people don't wait got others to get down first. We had to... More

Have now climbed the tower twice: once a wet and wild winter's day and more recently on a beautiful summer's day. Loved it on both occasions - the views in summer were breathtaking, all the way to the Atlantic. In winter it wasn't the view - you could barely see in front of your face - but the chill in... More

Waited over 30 minutes. As we climbed the narrow stairs we would have to back up to allow the other people to walk back down. There are other places with better views.

Liked:Views at night of a twinkle Porto were lovely. Disliked:Not for those with vertigo. This was a more unusual way to see Porto, it costs 5euro but worth every cent.

Great view and a beautiful building. I would recommend working out the timing so that you are in the bell area at the stroke of an hour. It's like a free bonus to the tour. Also be sure to say hi to Sara in the gift shop. She's super cool and very knowledgeable about the whole town.

Clerigos Tower offera visit of museum and the tower for 3€ over day, and tower only on evening for 5€. The view from top of the tower is lovely, but be prepared wait longer time before you are alowed to enter the tower because number of people is limited.

It was a hot day but the climb was so worth it! The views were fabulous. Gets a little busy on the narrow steps with people going in opposite directions. Be sure to go all the way to the top, not just the first level. Not for anyone with bad knees!
