Torre dos Clerigos towers above the ancient roof tops of Porto. Climb to the top provides sweeping views across the city. Steep, narrow staircase can create pedestrian jam so I would suggest you go early in the morning. As the tower can be seen from across Porto, it is also a great compass if you become lost wondering around Porto.

The long climb up the stairs of the tower are small price to pay for the stunning panorama of Porto available from this vantage point

It's the ex-libris of the Porto city. It's as beautiful on the outside as on the inside, its has about 200 steps to get to the top so I wouldn't recommend it for people who get tired easily or are claustrophobic. For the rest on the top awaits you a view to take your breath away where you can identify... More

The tower located up the hill from the central square, provides a spectacular view of Porto. The climb isn't too strenuous although you often have to wait in the narrow passageway up when other people are descending. The top of the tower can also get crowded as you have to squeeze by to look out all four sides. It was... More

We walked up the hill to see it so as the neighborhood which is nice, especially if you go and see an old library with fantastic décor in 2 open floors, still in the hands of the same family. Also nearby we will see a modern low building with good light eating options including Japanese food.

Doorman not very nice. The tower is old and beautifull and always good to return to and rediscover. A map with subtitles of the landscape should be available when you reach the top.

Arround the Clerigos is where all Porto life happens! You have nearby, in the Cândido dos Reis street, one of the best places in Porto to have breakfast or a brunch: "Essência Portuguesa". At night, this streets are crowed, you have all the bars, Plano B, Gin House, Twins... Where all the fun is going. Lots of historic buildings too... More
