The climb up to the top is the equivalent of about six storeys, and well worth it when you arrive with panoramic views over the city.

If you like views, heights and the challenges of climbing up, up, up go up the Clerigos Tower in Porto. Great views for taking photos. A little challenging go up and down as the stairs are very narrow and there are lots of people going up and down. We found everyone very polite and patient so that was good. If... More

The entry fee is small (2 Euros) and well worth the charge. This medieval tower (built in 1763) sits high on the edge of what was once the edge of the old town. Archer's ports dot the wall of the tower. Nearly 200 steps go to the top of the tower and reward the hearty explorers with sweeping views down... More

The Clérigos tower and church. Leaving the Library Lelo by going downhill for about 250 meters, you arrive on the “Clérigos Tower & Church, who is with his 76 meters the highest “Church Tower” from Portugal. For those who are not afraid to take the small staircase and do all the steps to go to the top of the tower,... More

It will cost you 2 Euro's and a bit of energy to climb the 150 spiral stairs to the top, but it's worth it for possibly the best view in Porto. The staircase is in places quite narrow and you often have to squeeze up to allow for others coming down, but people were doing this 250 years ago, mind... More

The views are stunning from the top - be aware that the top platform around the top is quite narrow so if you are not keen on heights it might worry you. As other reviewers have said the 200 odd steps to top are narrow and do take your breath away doing the climb but it's worth it. Don't miss... More

It was all worth it, the view was amazing, quite a lot of flights of stairs to go up! it gets narrower and narrower as you reach the peak! May be difficult for some people, I had 50% off for the entrance fee, I showed my Porto Card.

I climbed the 200 stairs to the top of the Clerigos Tower for only 2 euros. I really enjoyed the view from the top and took some great video. It's not a guided tour so you can take your time climbing or descending if you find yoursel not to be in great shape. The average person shouldn't have a problem... More

The top of the tower has a magnificent view of Porto. The view is worthy of the suffering in going up. There is no elevator and the starcase is narrow, so be aware that it will take some time go get to the top and it will not be easy, but it really has a very nice view. I would... More

The attached museum and church are worth a visit because they're free, but no need to pay to climb the tower, especially if you're only looking for a good view of the city, mainly because there are plenty of overlooks throughout town. Save your money and take the funicular for good panoramics.
