Great location at the top of the hill in Vila Novia de Gaia, there is not really much to see on the tour but the cellar where they mature the port is very impressive. It's basically £5 for a small tour and 3 different ports to try... An absolute bargain.

It is a step walk up the hill from the riverfront, but worth the views when you get all the way up there. They charge a small amount for the tour and have English, Spanish and Portuguese versions; although you may run the chances that when you arrive they might not have more tours in your language, because it depends... This was the last place we visited. We took the tour. The guide was interesting and easy to understand. He was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer questions. The your was 45 minutes. English tours leave on the hour and included in the cost is a three port tasting. We enjoyed the tour and the port. This was the only... More

We ended up at Taylor's on the recommendation of a local as Taylor's was one of her two favorites. The tour and tasting were worth every bit of the 5E. Our guide provided great descriptions of the history, facilities, and process and she was able to answer everyone's questions.

The tour of the Taylor winery, which has been family owned for centuries, is entertaining and informative. The tour includes background on making port, viewing of the caves where there are over 2500 barrels some several centuries old and a very informative tour including how each type of port is made, how to use it and how to store it.... For only 5 Euro you get the opportunity to taste 3 types of Porto (white, tawny10 and vintage) and a tour of 30 minutes. I learned quite a few things about Porto. Making photos was allowed. In the end you could enjoy the Porto at their terrace where you had an amazing view of Porto. It was really worth the... More

I've been drinking Taylor 10 year tawny for decades and having it here was great. They teach you a lot about wine and the food was some of the best we had in Porto ...

It's a climb up the hill to Taylor's but the view from the terrace is well worth it. The tour is good and explains the origins of Taylor's wines with a tasting of three ports - a dry white at the start and then a ruby and 10-year old tawny at the end of the tour. It is well worth... More

Jacinta and I took the Taylor tour as a part of a larger walking tour booked through Oporto and Douro Experiences (reviewed elsewhere), so our admissions/tasting fees were paid. That said, the fees here are quite low given the quality of the tour and the wines you are able to sample. This tour, led by a young woman who spoke... More
