You really must see this bookshop. The architecture is quite amazing but beware you are not allowed to take photographs. Don't worry though there are lots to download on the internet.

You can really understand why they do not let you take pictures. Their business is selling books, not having thousands of people walking through the small book shop (which happens anyway, since it is so beautiful). Lello is a classical portuguese publisher too.
Wonderful bookstore, like it came out of a book itself. You get the feeling that it could be more enjoyable if it weren't for the staff's "NO PICTURES!" warning every 30 seconds. Sounds like they are more worried about not letting visitors take pictures than selling books, but it's also understandable, since 95% of visitors aren't interested in buying anything....

Worth taking a look, it's really majestic. Apparently, J.K. Rowlins lived in Porto when writing Harry Potter and got inspired by this bookstore to design Hogwarts. Tricky to take any pictures though, as they have several guards who make sure that you don't!
Probably the best staircase I have seen in my life. You can even smell the antiquity of the books. However, it was very crowded with tourists and you cannot feel comfortable. The atmosphere is broken regularely by shop assistants who ask not to take pictures.
amazing architecture, and woodwork. photos are only allowed from 9-10 in the morning, so if you get scolded it is because it is a functioning book store and can´t have everyone standing around taking photos the whole time during business hours.

This is a door into the past, a must-see of the city. It is not that large, but a real temple for books in terms of architecture and style ...
The wooden interior needs to be seen, but you get the feeling that the bookshop is weary of visitors, and someone barks at you if you try to take a photo
Very nice place to visit, the stairs and the ceiling are just amazing, it is a shame that no photos can be taken though, must see when you are in porto.
