As a matter of fact, I have never heard about the National Park of Peneda-Gerês before getting there. We were touring Northern Portugal by car and we drove through this surprisingly beautiful region: the only National Park in whole Portugal. We made a few stops inside the Park area: at the "Castelo de Lindoso" (with its magnificent ramparts, old ruins... More

Beautiful scenery and easily explorable by car or on foot. You would need a long time to see it all! Some of the roads are not tarmacked - take care.

This was my boyfriends favourite part of our trip. The area is HUGE, but so naturally beautiful. The only advise I can give is, go prepared, know what you want to see, how you will get to see it (by foot, by car, go on a tour, etc). There isn't a lot of information at the tourist office, which is... More

The national park is huge and filled with a very rich fauna and flora. It depends on the season but is quite probable that you can see... More

This was an exceptional excursion capping off our Portuguese tour. Its a long stretch,720km of wild, dramatic scenery, with windswept peaks and valleys of oak, pine and yew woodlands. It also hosts a rich flora and fauna including the eagle and wolf. The well-posted footpath for those using calf muscle-power are grouped in six sections for 10-15 people at a time. Our first... This is one of the prettiest places in North Portugal. I go there whether it's raining or shining. It's absolutely beautiful and stunning. What I love the most is being in the water completely surrounded by the mountains. An indescribable feeling.

Thank you very much all the Tour promoted by Oporto Adventure Tours. The national park is very beautiful, with a lot of history and traditions. If you wanna go in the good conditions and relaxed try it! :)
