A great way to get to Monte Gardens which are well worth a visit. Get a one way ticket and come down in a toboggan

What a great way to get to Monte. The views were great looking back over Funchal and the Atlantic. Monte is good for the tropical gardens and the starting point for the Lavada Dos Tornos. Don't miss this if you are in Funchal.

Lining up to buy tickets and boarding is a tiresome experience. To be avoided by those who dislike heights.

It is must see & do in Funchal. The ride provides a spectacular view of the harbor and the residential areas. At the top be sure to visit the church, gardens and catch a wicker basket ride.

Phenomenal views and a good way of reaching the Monte Gardens. We could say more, but more can be less.

This is must for people visiting the Island for the first time. I costs 15 euros per person for a return trip- breath taking views.

The thought of travelling in a cable car was daunting but we took our grandchildren to Monte. The ride was so smooth, the views spectacular. Unfortunately we chose the wrong day and couldn't take advantage of the toboggan ride!
