This was good. The cars were clean and comfortable had a good view over Funchal. It moves slow enough to be able to take photos and take in all the scenery.

We visited the Monte Cable car first thing in the morning (it got very busy later in the morning and there were quite long queues). It was extremely well organised, clean and modern. There were toilet facilities at the bottom of the cable car and refreshments in plentiful supply. It was well worth the trip up to watch people return... More

This is a good way to reach Monte where there are lovely gardens and a nice church. It's also the starting point for the wooden sleighs going back down the hill towards Funchal. The cable car is far more relaxing than the bus ride which was rather scary.

WOW. We went up the monte cable car as a family of 6 2 kids 4 adults for 15€ return for adults and 7.50€ for kids the views was stunning. Our two kids loved it well worth the money just be wary of some of the tours they try to catch you out and rip you off

Well worth the trip. Fantastic views from the cable car plus from Monte. Cable car ver smooth and relaxing. Avoid going when cruise ships in as no delays and no queues.

We had a great family day out here, they let us take the pram up and my boys had a fab time. We purchased the photo of us all which came with a free wine and cake taster and a keying. It is definitely worth a trip.

Cost €15 each return. One way €10. They take your photo when you set off and it's ready at the top with a DVD. Its €10. If you opt to go one way you can take toboggan down.

Only a short wait for a cable car and reasonably priced. We only booked to go up as we had planned to come down on the toboggan. Wonderful views of Funchal harbour and the town. We could even see what was growing in people's gardens! We were a couple and shared the car with other nationalities which was interesting. Nothing... More

Easily accessible from the seafront promenade near the Old Town, the cable car provides a good service with spectacular views over Funchal. It takes approximately 15 minutes to reach Monte where there are gardens that can be visited at additional cost, or a short walk to the toboggan ride that takes you part way back down to Funchal. A short... More
