Pontificated over whether to choose the red or yellow tour. Yellow gave us 48hrs instead of 24 and the 3 in1 ticket for €15 gave us the trip up to cabo girao viewing platform. In the end we did all three tours in one day. The main tour is ok, the commentary was audible and informative if not particularly in... More

We loved this open top bus tours. You can buy a 3 in one which takes you on three different routes and also you can get off and on where you want. The 3rd route to Canara de Lobos was very nice where you pick up another to take you to the board walk in Cabo Girao which is a... More

The yellow bus tour is fantastic value for money as we got the 2 day pass for 15€ per person, our. little boy was free admission. We took the blue line on the first day which took us to the fishing town of Camara De Lobos & also onto a minibus to the clifftop viewing point. We enjoyed this trip... More

We rode both the routes of the Yellow Bus but recommend catching the 'Blue' route and getting off at the little harbour where there are shops and best of a collection of bars and restaurants. Leave at stop 12 for Camara de Lobos. When it is time watch for a bus dropping off and you should have enough time to... More

Open top bus tours are always a great way to see a city but to be honest Funchal does not particularly lend itself to this form of sighteeing. It is a beautiful city but with not a great number of historical sights and most of those such as the Cathedral and Castle are in a small area in the centre... More

We did the 48 hour 3 in 1 tour for €15 and did Funchal one day/Camara de Lobos & Cabo Girao the next. The tours cover a number of interesting places but you will need to study the map to ensure you get off at the right stops. The commentary doesn't mention up-coming stops or places of interest and the... More

We did red and yellow bus, enjoyed both, went further with red, didn't realise there were choices on yellow, but good getting on and off where you want, saw a lot of Funchal, gave you a good start to holiday,

great way to discover a little about the island you can also hop on or off as many times as you like at different points along the way and your ticket last 48hrs so use it again the next day if you miss something.

The tour of 90mins was spent waiting for about 50mins at various stops around the town. The ear phones only spoke German or Portuguese. We paid 30E for 2 days. Maybe it would have been better if we had used it for the "Hopon/Hopoff".

We took the 3 for 1 tour that included a tour of Funchal, Camara dos Lobos and Cabo Girao. The ticket is valid for 2 days and well worth €15 each. It gives you a taste of Madeira and you can get on and off at different places as many times as you like, it even stops at the cable... More
