Bought a package for 48 euros for 2 which was cable car return and entry to the garden. It really is a great garden but beware you need to be reasonably fit as it a long way to the bottom and one hell of a climb back up so leave plenty of time and take a few rests.

Amazing views and very attractive gardens. Unfortunately the museum closed early so missed out on that. Would recommend a morning visit to ensure you have enough time for everything. Comes highly recommended.

As a lover of garden visiting I gave to rate this one as one of the best. Fantastic experience- loved it. Wish I had been when all the orchids were out.

We gave this a miss the first time we visited Madeira and just went up and back on the cable car. That turned out to be a massive error because when we went back to Madeira last month we spent ages in the tropical gardens. What a beautiful, peaceful place. There is no set route and you have all sorts... More

Can't go to Madeira without visiting this garden. We use a different routes through the gardens each time and even after 4 visits, we still have some to try. The vegetation is the star but the water features alone are worth seeing.

Thes gardens have been voted No. 13 in the world by Conde Nast magazine. There is so much to see. Would suggest that if you are able to get there on your own rather than a tour you will have more time to take in all there is to see

Amazing place to visit, so beautiful, enjoy it, It really is a gem this place. Loved the views and the artefacts from the Portuguese Empire that are dotted around the place, with you ticket you get a free Madeira wine to taste in the café which is a great specially if it is cold as it will warm your heart...
