Catch this place on a sunny day going to/from Sintra. Magnificent! Only negative: The buses - man, there were a lot of 'em. But, hey, the place IS popular AND the view terrific. If you're a serious photographer (like me), you'll figure it out. Diogo of Sintra Majik tours (see that review elsewhere in TA) was able to use alternative... More

Brilliant view, however max an hour is enough for walking around. Would suggest to travel by coach & stay there for 15 or 60 mins. Have to admit coach ride took a bit long, but enjoyed lovely view & shot breathtaking pictures ;)

Apart from being the westernmost point on the European mainland there is noting special about this location - a lighthouse, a restaurant and gift shop and lots of coaches stopping for a photo-opportunity on their way to Sintra.

Serene, beautiful, full of lovely colors, peaceful, romantic place. I visited with my friend, and we both got completely flustered by the beauty of this place. It was well worth taking an hour's train journey from Lisbon to Sintra, followed by the 30 minute bus ride. I wish the bus connectivity was more frequent

The view is gorgeous. I would only go if it is part of your tour oryou have a car as you really only need 10 minutes there to take a picture and say you have been there.

We took the bus from Cascais, which is quite pricy: €6.5 round trip for each person. Very windy on the day we were visiting but at least it was sunny. The view is OK but not a "wow". The bus was not on time. If I have to come again, I would rent a car and come around the time... More

Wow what a place! The winds are so strong that people get pushed around by them. The scenery is awesome and you can only be in awe of the strenght of the Antlantic Ocean. Well worth the visit and its free. Also free parking lot next to the site.

We went to Cabo de Roca to see the most western point of Europe. Unfortunately during out visit the weather was terrible, it was raining all the time, so we didn't see the sea. So we went to the restaurant on a coffee and saw there a big picture of Cabo de Roca view towards the sea. So we had... More

Approaching from Cascais, it looks remote. The road heads inland before approaching, so that it loses its "scariness". You really have the feeling of being at the end of the world (similar to Cape of Good Hope) at this westernmost point of continental Europe. There is a small tourist information office with very helpful staff and wonderful fotos. It's worth... More
