This country villa displays a magnificent garden designed to meet the desires of its XIXth century freemason owner. Chapel, tunnels, initiation well, grotto and tower form -together with its trees, flowers and bushes- a set full of romantic beauty where masonic rituals used to take place. Strolling and exploring is a delight.

Everybody talks about Barcelona and Gaudi's buildings, but Quinta da Regaleira is actually at the same level of quality! Nature and Man in perfect combination is found here with amazing gardens, dizzling tunnels, the astonishing pit and the beautifully little palace! It's really a must-see!

a charming, magical place. definitely take the guided tour to learn all the ins and outs of the history. the grounds are breathtaking. it is a peaceful, interesting oasis. a place you want to take a break and reflect. this was not opened the last time i was in sintra and it is a valued addition.

Loved it, really breathtaking...the maps are misleading and give the impression that everything will take ages to walk around but in fact it's all quite close together. Beautiful, full of rich cultural details. A guided visit is absolutely required in order to understand it a little bit of the whole thing.
