probably the most beautiful beach around Lisbon. not overcrowded as harder to get to, but worth making an effort. we got a train from Lisbon to Sintra, spent an hour there (picturesque town, but a bit too touristy for my liking) and then took a bus to Almocageme. from there it's a rather nice over 30 minute walk. after spending... The only way to get here is by car, It's a beautiful beach much attended by nature photographers due to the beauty of the spot. The sunset here is unique specially on warm days. The sea can be tricky here, heavy waves most of the time, making sunbath the main reason of the affluence of the people here. There´s also... More

I'm not sure why this beach isn't more talked about. It is one of the most stunning beaches I've been to anywhere! Beautiful imposing cliffs on the left (South) a line of huge rocks heading out into the Atlantic on the right (North) and a good km of sandy beach that tends not to be very crowded. The waves are... this beach is beautifull. The sea is very cold but definetly one of the best beach in Portugal. This is a good surf spot.

Found this beach on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a go. The beach is beautiful, inserted on the cliffs with caves, rocks. We were there when the tide was low so there were a lot of small water holes for the kids to play. On the down side, access is not very good, you have very few parking spots... More

I was there twice at the restaurant and both times in the night - a small spot in between 2 rocks - very small, very cozy, and nobody on the beach...Romantic and serene

This is a nice beach flanked by cliffs. But it is only to sit on sand and enjoy the fresh air or sunbathe, no swimming, dangerous rip currents. Also, there is a very good fish restaurant overlooking the beach.

We couldn't believe our luck when we found this beach. It was empty. It had a little grotto, lots of sand and rocks, and was just breathtaking. One of the few beaches that you could just walk onto from the parking lot without an extended hike. I'd skip the restaurant on the beach. We went inside and paid outrageous prices... More
