We went to Sintra with this being one of the places planned to visit simply because we have never been to a toy museum.....and we were not dissapointed. Thousands of toys spread over 3 floors and arranged per themes (cars, toy soldier, books, dolls and doll houses, etc.). Top floor is the dolls and doll houses and for every woman... More

It's a pity this museum has closed it's doors on the 31st of August. I only heard of it in the beginning of August, exactly because of reading on a national newspaper that it was going to close it's doors at the end of the month. I was fortunate enough to visit in the penultimate day of it's current existence,... More

I loved this place. All those old toys displayed together can look a bit creepy but that's part of it's charm! Very central and has a lift.

Found this place by accident while passing it on the bus returning down the hill from the Pena Palace. It is an extensive collection of toys from over the years. Very enjoyable wander around with 3 teenagers laughing at their parents saying 'ooo I used to have one of those'!! Information booklet provided to accompany your visit which is particulsrly... More

We visited with our young daughters and were pleasantly by the size and variety of the collection, covering traditional Portuguese toys as well as toys from around Europe. The museum is spread over three floors and covers cars, boats, planes, soldiers, dolls as well as Lego etc. There was plenty to keep the kids interested as well as toys to... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our time in this unusual museum. Toys, models and dolls from all eras and from different parts of the world. Well themed in cabinets and tableaux.
