The Pena park surrounds the Palace. You can buy a combined ticket for the palace and park, or you can buy separate tickets. The park is is nice but not extraordinary. You can exit from the park (without having to go back up to the castle). The bus stop is right at the exit.

Veri interesting place, and much better than the Royal Palace at Sintra. You could easily spend a half day at this site visiting the castle and its many rooms and walking in the grounds. Worth a visit.

Pena Park, with its many beautiful buildings, paths, and views, all crowned by the Pena Palace, is waiting for you to discover it! The palace is a fantasy of gothic, moorish, and Manueline architecture wrapped in golden domes, colorful tiles, and love stories. A special place that opens the heart and mind...

The diversity of plants and trees here in a natural environment is amazing. Beautifully done, well maintained. Even after the storms, that they are still recovering from, it is well worth a long walk through. Do not miss the walk up to Cruz Alta - it is the best viewpoint of Sintra, the castle and surrounding countryside. We walked up... More

We parked at the 'lakes' car park and walked through the park to the palace. Only parked there by chance but would definitley recommend starting your visit there as it was much quiter than the main entrance and we enjoyed a great walk through the park. We had a pushchair with us and the paths were OK. The palace really... More

palace was wonderful but our day was severely 'dented' by rain and thick mists which covered the place. We did not manage to get a full view which was a shame. This is definitely a good weather attraction as the gardens and walks are fabulous and in a way are core to the experience. Check weather before coming!

It was a great experience I really enjoyed it. I recommend to buy the ticket for scotturb its a two way ticket and costs 5€ per person to get to the palace from the village. Then buy a combined Pena and Morous palace costs 17€ per person. Don't buy a bus ticket from the entrance of the Pena park to... More

This is just like Disney castles brought to live! Fantastic!!! Try to take the bus, nr 434, up to the castle from the trainstation. The hills are really steep and narrow and it can be really dangerous to walk there since there's no sidewalk. Great way to spend the day! Highly recommended.

we decided to cross the garden and walk to the palace... even if the outside does not does not look like a palace in France or Italy, the interior design is very similar. If you stay on one of the terrace/balcony, you have a great view to Lisbon
