A new course with spectacular views of the Atlantic and Obidos lagoon. Friendly helpful staff, nice sensibly priced restaurant with great views of the back 9. Quieter in the afternoons

The newish course is a great challenge, but hundreds of building plots and an incomplete hotel surround it and detract from the experience. The bar, its snacks and the shop in the smart stylish clubhouse are all expensive... so we moved on to the mature courses nearby.

This is a very impressive, well kept golf course which can be a bit intimidating to golfing rabbits like myself. The tees, fairways and, particularly, the greens are very well kept. There is quite a lot of water around the course. My friends, who are better golfers than I, really like this course. It has a very impressive clubhouse the... More

I've been very fortunate to play some fantastic courses in all corners of the world and can honestly say that Royal Obidos compares to the very best. I played it from the white tees and found it an excellent examination of my game (12 hcap) finishing with a 85. Each hole is unique with the par 5 second and par... More

A challenging course which is still very new and looks plain from the road but once you are playing the view is transformed. Some stunning holes looking out to the lagoon. Lots of risk/reward and plenty of water to challenge the faint hearted. If you decide to walk the course I would recommend an electric trolley or carry as a... More

I actually came here twice recently. The first time was in March as part of a 'lads' golfing tour. The second time was a couple of weeks later when I was with my wife and son. So two rather contrasting trips. First of all the golf. The consensus amongst our party of 20 or so experienced golfers was that this... More

Very well kept course with excellent greens. However, 5 hours for a two ball to play 18 holes is unacceptable and it wasn't busy!. The course is difficult enough without having to wait to play every shot and its not cheap. Course management needs to be improved a lot.

This course had a lot of testing holes and is no "walkover". It is not easy to walk either - and especially if you are going to play 36 holes a day ... Get a cart! We had some fog ruining the start of our day, but as the weather lifted, it was magnificent.

A lovely course, well designed/layed-out but can be very very long specially when the temperature rises so a buggy on extra warm days is recommended. Some holes are not for the faint-hearted. Great views of the course from the clubhouse which serves good food (we have not actually eaten there but we know people who have). Green fees are a... More

I really liked this course and believe I could play it much better a second time. The greens were very well kept, but they are hard and approaches have to be gentle. The number of par fives make it challenging to a middling golfer who does not necessarily see a par five as a birdie opportunity. The lunch Banco Big... More
