When visiting this museum take your time. There is plenty to see and you should not be in a hurry. Check you Lisboa card for discount on your ticket. Enjoy the garden aswell. Across the street is a good local restaurant O Policia, serving very good fish dishes.

What a fabulous collection; plan to spend at least half a day here. Even if you are not a contemporary art aficionado this museum will turn you into an appreciator, at the very least. Also within the complex are a cafe, an urbane restaurant-bar, and a small, lovely garden/park terrace overlooking the river. It's FREE, everyday! (Closed Mondays.)

This is an amazing collection of 20th and 21st century art. You see ALL the big names from the Avantgardes to the most recent entries in the art circuit. Mr. Berardo collected all this art in a relatively short period of time, when he stroke gold in South Africa. And they gave it to the Portuguese state. Worth a stop... More

If you're a modern and contemporary art lover visiting Lisbon, then the Museau Colecao Berardo is for you. 100% free, this is a vast collection showcasing some of the biggest names in art: Picasso, Warhol, Pollack. Loved all the Abstract Expressionist works. Also, don't miss the gardens. Stunning views of the river.

Wonderful collection of modern and contemporary art exhibited chronologically. I was not expecting such a substantial and robust collection. A must see for art lovers.
