We visited here on a fine and sunny day. We strolled around and it a very lovely place to visit. Because we only had limited time we just got an overall impression of how pleasant and and how the authorities had made this place pleasant to visit. It is clean and is next to the river.

Lisbon's modern neighborhood, a big change from the historic center. It was developed in the early 90s for a world expo and soon after that it became a more residential area with business buildings on the main avenue. On the weekends the business area is pretty much dead. However, the walk along the river and the green fields are usually... More

Great area to stay if you are in Lisbon. The cleanest and most modern place in whole Lisbon. You have huge shopping centre, oceanfront, Vasco de Gamma bridge and great 5 star hotel Myriad. Everything that one would hope for. It have great long promenade, perfect for evening walk or jogging during a day. We stay in Rossio area and... More

This is a lovely area of Lisbon reachable by taking metro to Oriente whic is an amazing train station. Across the road is the fab Vasco Da Gama shopping centre with hundreds of stores and restaurants. We took a spin on the Telecab da Lisboa which is a cable car that takes you from one side of park to the... More

The whole area was constructed to host Expo 98 (and the 500th anniversary of Portugal's voyages of exploration) and is noticeably popular with families and young people. There are various architectural highlights. I like the Portugal Pavilion (even though it has perhaps inevitably become a shelter for the homeless) and the Oceanarium building. You can take in the whole park... More

Close to Oriente metro, the park is a bit of a change from the city sights. Interesting architecture, lots of shops and restaurants albeit the fast food variety, aquarium, take a wander along the promenade and ride in the cable car.......something for everyone! We went on a Sunday and the place was buzzing and lively with lots of locals out... More

Our hop-on-off bus tour brought us here, the modern part of Lisbon. The architecture is great but that was it. You don't see much actions around here and it was quite isolated and quiet, unlike the Baixa or Chiado area.

If you want a change from the historic sights in the centre of Lisbon, then head for the Parque das Nacoes. This area was created for Expo 98: as such it does look a little tired in places. To reach Parque da Naceos, take the red line of the metro in the direction of the airport to Oriente station. The... More

The Parque das Nacoes was within the project of the Expo 1998, unfortunately the spaces often are desolated even though you can find out some restaurant or bar open for business. If you do not want to walk you can have a ride on the cable cars and have a great view on the Vasco da Gama bridge and all... More
