Took a 744 local bus out to the old expo park straight from the centre of town and the ride was ok. The park itself was a bit disappointing as I had been looking forward to hiring a bike, as advertised. Obviously it's not summer yet. Super water feature though and loads of nice restaurants.

We had some time at the end of our trip and spent a few hours down here. It was a nice reprieve from the heat of the day to find some shade and the ocean breeze. As the Expo 1998 site, there are some incredible modern structures here and many restaurants, along with a great view of the Vasco de... More

We took a trip via the metro to book train tickets and enjoyed lovely clean lines of the arches in Oriente station. Very good shopping centre opposite the station and train travel to to Algarve easy to book with friendly and helpful rail network staff added bonus train was on time, clean and comfortable.

To fully appreciate the architucture, walk from the Metro (Oriente, Red line) at ground level, through the Vasco da Gama shopping centre to the river's edge and look back. The Oceanarium is recommended, the Cable Car is good fun, there is a nice riverside walk, and plenty of places to eat and drink. Half a day should be sufficient for... More

A nice place for long stralls by the sea offering many places to sit, have a coffee or sometime for yourself.

If you get there using the metro, you get to see Oriente station, which is special. There are lots of things to do/see but modern architecture is impressive and a big contrast to the old Lisbon and traditional Portuguese architecture. As impressive as the Tajo and the endless Vasco da Gama bridge.

There are lovely views and a nice promenade along the river; the train station Oriente is worth seeing. The mall is huge, busy, full of people but like Malls everywhere.... Really wanted to review the restaurant we discovered but it is not on TA -- Peixaria -- you will see it along the promenade and it is GREAT. OMG for... More

You have everything here, Places to eat and drink are fantastic and make for a lovely day of people watching We grabbed a Pastiche de nata, which is a local delicacy, Imagine an egg custard but 100 times nicer! Nice shops if you're feeling flush. Ive not done the cable car but you can catch one to get a better... More

I can recommend a view from a cable car. You have a chance to see the whole area and Vasco da Gama bridge. from the nearby railway station ORIENTE there is a good connection to Porto. Return is 55 euros, it takes 2:45 hours and the speed is up to 215km. Inside the Mall there are a lot of restaurants... More

The Park area is a fairly small zone that includes the Oceanarium, a mall and a lot of restaurants and bars. There is a nice walking zone along the river. I don't know that this area warrants a visit into and of itself but if you are already at the Oceanarium it is worth riding the cable car and walking... More
