I have taken the alfa pendular fast trains the length of Portugal and it always stops in Estacao do Oriente in Lisbon. The train station is very accessible, with beautiful architecture and is directly opposite a shopping centre as well as the Parque das Nacoes (Park of Nations). The Lisbon sightseeing bus stops here too. It is a convenient location... More

If you want to look at one of the greatest work by Calatrava you can definitely pay a visit to the Oriente Station, that it's also the starting point if you are visiting and going to the Expo 1998 site and then to the Oceanarium...

Grab the tube and make tracks for the Oriente Railway Station in Lisbon, it is beautiful. Designed by Santiago Calatrava The morning light streaming through the bird like wings of the canopy over the platforms is pure genius of design and concept, and mesmerising. The play of light and shadow is exquisite throughout the whole building. The use of steel... More

I was told to visit this place because it looks spectacular and I do not regret doing it. It was a really nice place to see and it can be easily reached by the red metro line.

More modern architectural nothing worth other than the design. If you are not a architect it may not be interesting for you.

The upper level of the station with the arched meralwork is a joy, but the lower levels in stark concrete are draughty and gloomy and barely brightened by the shops and kiosks

This is one of Lisbon's important railway stations connecting various parts of Lisbon and the country itself. The architecture on the outside is stylish and modern. The station is well equipped and planned very well. It has so many lifts to accomodate the daily passenger traffic. The station is integrated with metro services as well. This is just opposite to...
