nice station with many food options and many shops around. However. not all elevator access all floors which can be problematic to travel around between escalators and finding the right elevator if you have a big bag or too many bags. Design can be much better if there is more than one color inside. Gray is not the nicest color... More

With a project of Santiago Calatrava, one of the most important world arquitectures, this is nowadays the central railway station in Lisbon. When you are visiting the Parque das Nações (the most modern part of Lisbon) Take the train, visit this "palm tree station" and go to Sintra, another portuguese paradise.

Iconic Station... Built in 1998 for Expo 98 in Lisboa. Today is the most important connection hub between train, tube, bus, etc.

A cavernous combination of stations with shopping centre attached. It fits well with the effectively redeveloped expo site.

Even if you are just walking around the Oceanario or the Vasco da Gama shopping mall, take a couple of minutes to go there and see the beautiful construction of the Oriente Train station. you can go in and out in no time. Pretty impressive. I heard some people complaining about the restrooms... I have never used them so I... More

Using a Global Eurail Pass and covering five countries in 17 days we experienced 13 major European train stations...Estacao do Oriente was one of our favorites. It is big, but new, modern, clean, well marked and full of friendly English speaking people. One of its best assets is it being adjacent to the huge Vasco de Gama shopping complex with... More

The station has some interesting architecture you can ponder for a few moments and some very light shopping. It is connect to the Vasco de Gama mall and the gateway to the Parque de Naciones area.

I have taken the alfa pendular fast trains the length of Portugal and it always stops in Estacao do Oriente in Lisbon. The train station is very accessible, with beautiful architecture and is directly opposite a shopping centre as well as the Parque das Nacoes (Park of Nations). The Lisbon sightseeing bus stops here too. It is a convenient location... More

If you want to look at one of the greatest work by Calatrava you can definitely pay a visit to the Oriente Station, that it's also the starting point if you are visiting and going to the Expo 1998 site and then to the Oceanarium...
