Torre de Belem is a must see for everyone who travels to Lisbon. It's quite beautiful, even if it has been massively restored and in a sense changed in the 19th century. Great views, especially from the top.

The Torre de Belem serves as a monument to Portugal's military and naval past. It's still in excellent condition, and can be thoroughly explored. It's location is quite spectacular, beside the River Tagus, with one tower jutting out into the water. Together with the nearby Monument to the Discoveries, this makes for a worthy spot of sightseeing for a couple... More

The Belem tower is amazing ! I enjoyed a lot this historical monument. I recommend 'cause it's a place to learn more about Portugal's culture and see so many beautiful landscapes. TIP: if you travel to Belem, do not forget to eat the original 'pastel de Belem' (it's delicious)

Well-preserved, but be ready to wait, because the stairs are narrow and you need to wait to go to the top. Beautiful view. But pay attention to the pass: you can get a pass to Mosteiro dos Jeronimos and the tower too. I asked it in the Mosteiro but they gave me another pass : I payed for something I... More

Spectacular views of the city from the tower . Magnificent well preserved architecture inside . very Narrow staircase going up and down the tower might seem a bit claustrophobic to some but the open spaces display amazing architecture and beautiful scenic views . We captured some of our best pictures here. Definitely a must on your tour of Lisbon and... More

its a lovely place to visit , a tower built on the 15 th century, its very well preserved, but be prepared to pay 6 euros, to wait long time on queues , because the only access to the top levels is made by stairs that are very narrow and dangerous not good for family's with children between 0 to... beautiful tower holding Portuguese heritage & architecture of 16th century. also very nice walk along side the river Tagus. we went there with our children (age 2 & 4). It's not possible to climb the tower with very young children but could be reachable up to first floor. very narrow stairs and have to wait in queue to go up.... More

Torre de Belem is another trademark of Lisbon. A typical example of manuelin architecture, built in the same period as the Monastery of St. Jerome. Admission is 6 euro, a tour of the city is included only the outside of the tower tour, tickets are paid on the spot.
