This was a beautiful place to visit with amazing architecture. We visited on a Sunday and it was waaaaay too crowded! I lost my travelling buddy a few times in the crowd. The main sanctuary is also closed off during mass. more

St. Jerome is a wonderful example of unique Portuguese architecture. The seafaring history of the Portuguese is evident as soon as you take your first step into the cathedral. The monastery grounds are beautifully maintained, which is no small feat given the site of the site. And Vasco de Gama is there! more

This is free for students and very interesting considering it was made from funds brought my new world explorations. Upstairs there is a room about it's history and the exploreres that I recommend to take some time in. However, since this is a church and museum with only history to see I would not recommend this for small children. more
