Lisbon's zoo is not the largest, nor the one with the most exotic animals, but it is very well organized and some of the enclosures make for very exciting close-up meetings. Particularly amazing are the ape temple, where we spent a good hour contemplating a family of orangutans and a couple of massive gorillas, and the glass wall of the... More

Its a old zoo with small cages. For portugueses standards entance is expenisve. You have definitelly better zoo´s in Europe. Believe the animal would appreciate bigger bigger habitats. I would go more often if the price wasn´t so high. Rather spent the money at the Oceanario, more expensive but much more bang for the buck.

We love animals and love zoos. The one thing that puts me off is if the animals looked uncared for or in tiny pens. Let me say right here that neither of these fears were realised and this appears to be right up there with London zoo etc in care for the animals. The zoo puts health and safety for... More

Zoo is right next to metro station, you pay on the day so go quite early to avoid queues. Was amazing seeing animals that I had not seen before such as koala bears and hippos. Lots of food places by the entrance of the zoo, but avoid McDonald's unless you want to queue for an hour. Parrots and lions didn't... More

Lisboa Zoo is offering a nice opportunity to have a two-to-three hours stroll with your children among the animals of the world. The zoo is within the city limit, with a very good "European" size according to others that we have visited around the planet (not like large US or Asian ones). You can access it directly by metro, which... More

The Lisbon Zoo has a very wide variety of interesting animals. Even though it was a bit expensive compared to the other attractions in Lisbon it was well worth its price. The ape habitat was especially interesting to observe. Would be an ideal location to spend a few spare hours with children.

I visited this zoo during a warm, sunny November day and it was a delight. I found it a bit pricey, but in it there is a cable trip included, with a nice overview of the garden, and which adds good value to the walk through itself. I've seen many various animals, some of which I've never seen before: they... More

If you are in Lisbon and you have a couple of hours to spare visit this zoo!! The animals look to be in just perfect condition inside their huge enclosures, the (two male and ten lionesses) Lions, Elephants and tigers are just great, not to mention the twice daily Dolphin show! Its a little bit hilly to walk but it's... More

My girlfriend is portuguese and she recommended that we went there since it's so big and she hadn't been there in a good while. I couldn't believe how massive it was and how busy it was as well just to get in you had to wait in a long line which took it's time to go down. But it was... More
