You only get in through a tour, since the palace it`s still used by the president and foreign visitors. Great value for money and the guide was really knowledgeable .The tour is in portuguese, but the guide translate into english. I loved to see the rooms and art, with the gifts given to the presidents in exposition

I am interested in Portuguese history and enjoyed visiting, but note that all the exhibits are labelled only in Portuguese. There are portraits of former Presidents, both from the pre-1974 dictatorship and the post-1974 democratic era, as well as gifts from state visits and a small gift shop. If you are interested in recent Portuguese history then it is well... More

It was the end of a long day sightseeing and I thought I could not manage another museum. However, what an inspiration this museum is. It gave me great insight into the implantation of the Republic and the feelings that must have been running high in Portugal at the time. The Museum provides details and portraits of all of the... Not too much to see here, probably more interesting for Portuguese residents. The collection is lovely but mainly consists of gifts from heads of state to the Portuguese presidents. Some beautifully crafted gifts.

Although I read and speak Portuguese, my husband doesn't and this was very frustrating when we realize that this museum has not got any information for English speakers. It was nice to see all the gifts and the medals and condecorations. The paintings were also very nice. The little shop at the entrance of the hotel was very nice and... More

Dear Cristiane, First of all, I would like to thank you for your review. And inform you that the guided tours to the Palace are made only at the weekends: Saturdays, and Sunday afternoons. From the 14th December till the 6th January, due to the Christmas decorations that a lot of people intend to see, visitors could do a free... More

I can't find a separate listing for the the Belem Palace which is the official residence of the Portuguese President. For just 5 Euro you tour the museum before taking a guided tour of the palace which is VERY worthwhile. In fact the tour of the palace was one of the highlights of my most recent trip to Portugal. The... More

This modern, interactive museum is located in the beautiful area of Belém in a building right next to the gates of the Palace of Belem which is the official residence of the President of the Republic. The collection is composed with gifts from other representative of State such as presidents, kings. But it is not only this, it is possible... More

Between Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and Museu dos Coches, this is a small museum showing the 100 years of the Portuguese Republic. It shows paintings of all the previous 17 Presidents (since 1910). The most interesting part is the display of official presents received during official/state visits to other countries. Some are really amazing pieces of art. Otherwise, it is very... More
