A pleasant way to enjoy a moment of relaxation in the city. There are now two of these tiny hole-in-the-wall joints for tasting this Portuguese specialty. We stopped in twice, on our first day and on our fourth. The price of Euro 1.65 per person (Oct 2014) get a shot of the cherry liquor in a little chocolate cup about... More

Still costs €1.65 for a shot ginginha in a chocolate cup, and indeed, if you drink it at the bar, they'll refill it for you. We came on a Sunday night around 9:00 pm. It was quiet when we got there, then a whole long line of mostly British tourists appeared behind us. The inside is tiny and only enough... More

The place is very tiny, at most it can accommodate five or six people standing at the counter. However, this is not a problem as you do not need to stay there very long. Basically, what you can get there is ginginha, a cherry-flavoured liquor tasting somewhere in between port wine and cherry. It is not very alcoholic and it... More

This place is tiny, enough room to stand at the bar and have your drink. If you order your ginginha in a chocolate cup, (€1.65 a shot ) you drink the 1st cupful down and they refill your 'glass' for you to drain it again and then eat it. What an absolutely superb idea. It is the least time I've... More

The local tipple in Lisbon is Ginginha - a type of cherry brandy. This bar is behind Rossio station and is little more than a hole in the wall! The bar sells the cherry brandy - also available in chocolate cups. Alternatively you ban have beer or wine. The bar has 2 outdoor tables - standing room only and is... More

Stopped by this great little spot in Lisbon on a recent trip and fell In love with the Ginginha there! This place is small but very reasonably priced with great variations and the Chocolate cupped Ginginha is the best there is! I still have my souvenir bottled at home now it's that good! You must go here on any trip... More

The shop is small, modern but very well decorated with an antique je ne sais quoi. The staff is nice and the owner a good entertainer.

I am a fan of sour cherry liquer (we make our own at home :) so I had to try the Gingiha. It was not bad, although for me it was more like a cheaper port wine with a little cherry flavour. Nothing special really (but still better than the other ginginha place, Ginjinha Sem Rival). The chocolate cup is... More

We tried this out at a small wooden kiosk at the corner of the Praca Do Comercio. We had 2 shots of ginginha, a sour cherry liqueur, served in a chocolate cup, for €1.65 each. A very nice tourist attraction.
