We knew little about Portuguese wines and heard about this place from the Lisbon Rick Steves guide. There's a continually changing selection of wines you can taste. Contrary to an earlier reviewer, the literature that was available to us was in both Portuguese and English (you just turn the Portuguese guide over, and you'll find the English version).

ViniPortugal has a great concept. You purchase a 5 Euro worth card that you can top up multiple times, and you go ahead and buy different wine tasters that cost between 0,50 and 1,50 cents. And while the idea is indeed great, the variety offered does not even start to showcase what Portugal has to offer. Many wine shops will... More

It was pouring rain during my Lisbon visit, so I happened upon this little place as I was escaping the rain in the Praca do Comercio. You pay a minimum of 2Euros and choose from red and white wines. The cost per taste is .50Euro-1.50Euro. You go at your own pace and you can sample as much as you want... More

For those interested in moving on the "knowledge curve" about Portugese wines, from about Zero to 25%, this is a place most worthy of your visit. Sponsored, apparently, by the ministry of agriculture, the visitor is offered inexpensive tastes of Portugese wines . The wines are dispensed by machines and on the day I was there cost between 50 Euro cents... More

Good wine is really cheap in Portugal. If you wish to find some of the best Portuguese wines I would rather try a regular wine shop, and consult the waiters when you dine.

This was fun. Load a card with credit, just like the Lisbon Via Viagem zapping card, or the London Oyster card, then go get your wine. €5 gets you 7-10 samples from either a white wine or a red wine dispenser. Read the label, hit the button, find a seat and examine your soul, navel or conscience, as the need... More

I see the other reviews, some papi tube an some negative. I had a good time though when I went. It was a nice refuge from the sun and inexpensive. No it's not free anymore but that just means your guide book is out of date. That's your book's fault....not Vini's. You pay to get a card with how much... More

Such a chance! I came there 10 minutes before the closing (that was about 6.50pm) and was impressed to see the line of about 10-12 people who wanted to explore the world of Portland wines. I loved the idea to try a big variety of wines for the reasonable amount of money and to buy the preferred wines after that.... More

No longer free but with taster samples from 0.50 Eros it hardly breaks the bank: and it’s a great way to get away from the heat of the sun and, if you’re lucky, the crowds. The wines available cover a large price range: the more expensive the wine, the more you pay. The display panels provide a general introduction to... More
