'What a Great Experience' - Great Service, Great, Simple and Completely Understandable explanation of the wines, the regions and the producers. The girl was very pleasant, speaks very good English (and other languages) made us welcome and fully but simply explained in regular terms all about the wines that we tasted. The price per person only 6 euros that included... More

Centrally located at Parca do Comercio, this is run by the wine producers of Portuguese wines. A must if you are interested in Portuguese wines. You buy a stored value card and get tasting sized pour from the automated dispenser. The knowledgeable staff are happy to help and answer your questions, they are passionate about wines. I ended up spending... More

If you want to discover the wines of Portugal, without spending too much, this is the place. You get a card from the bar and charge it up with as much or little as you want (min €3) and then help yourself to the wine dispensers. They dispense 15ml samples which cost between €0.50 and €1.50 a go. We put... More

Friendly staff, cool concept, nice seats outside, very affordable. Definitely something we would recommend to do. Simple concept with free card you can charge from a minimum of 3 euro p.p. Then get a wineglass and choose one of the many wines in the diy-wine-tap. Tip: put the wine in one of the plastic watercups, take it outside, get some... More

Many such wine tastings are a high pressure rip off. Not so this one. It is a low key opportunity to try some different Portuguese wines. For €3 you can taste up to 6 wines. On the day we visited there were 8 reds,7 whites and a port. The tasting samples are priced at .50c, 1€ and €1.50. No sales... More

For only three euros we could taste three different types of wine. The place is right under the arches of the Placa and it is open from 11 a.m. The girl of the reception gave us a card that we used in order to taste the wine from two different fridges. There are wines from 0,5€ to 1,5€ each glass.... More

Having previously visited tasting rooms for port, this was our first time trying different Portuguese tablw wines. Unless booked in advance this is not a guided tour. At the desk you fill your card with the amount of money you want to spend. You enter your card in a machine and choose the wine you want to taste. Every glass... More

The wine tasting room is in an excellent central location which made it easy to drop by and try a few wines. Samples are available priced between 0.50 and 1.50 Euro, easily bought by paying for a bar card (minimum 3Euro) and using it at the wine dispensing machines. One interesting fact is that they never replace same-for-same wines when... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
