No longer free but with taster samples from 0.50 Eros it hardly breaks the bank: and it’s a great way to get away from the heat of the sun and, if you’re lucky, the crowds. The wines available cover a large price range: the more expensive the wine, the more you pay. The display panels provide a general introduction to... More

Right on Praca de Commercio, you pay two euros and get a plastic card. You can add money to the card. The day I was there there were about eight wines to taste, six of which were reds. The hostess was informative if you asked. The tastes were either .50 or one euro apiece clearly marked. There was cold water... More

I love drinking wine and learn about wine culture all around the world. The wine tasting is perfectly located, and it is said to be free. BUT when you arrive they ask you to pay, the employee assisting you is not professional and know little about wine. He is more interested in foreign ladies than wine. Moreover, the place has... More

Horribly disorganised, badly controlled, with a group far too large for the demonstrator to deal with. This was an absolute mess of a so-called attraction and the wine was almost laughably bad. We were there the week before Easter, the group was about three dozen people, half of them wandering in when the session had already started, talking through the... More

We would have paid a good bit of money for this unique wine-tasting experience – but it was free! Numerous wines from 3 different regions of Portugal are on offer each month, and you can select up to a total of 4 of them to taste. There were even some sparkling wines available. The samples are healthy servings. After an... More

We first read about ViniPortugal in our guidebook and decided it was a good, inexpensive (free), indoor activity to do since it was raining. My husband and I and the couple traveling with us all enjoy wine, but are hardly wine connoisseurs. We were a bit intimidated at first, being somewhat of wine tasting novices, but the nice atmosphere, the... More
