It was late September night and we just grabbed a few beers and strolled down this very empty street where all shops and restaurants were long closed and we ended up at Tejo river at the square that seemed like the end of whole Lisbon. The river was all black in pitch black night and we only heard it and... More

My wife and I visited this square many time on our recent visit to Lisbon. It is a great starting place for many of the local attractions and shopping areas. The Castelo do Sao Jorge overlooks this entire area. There are a number of outdoor restaurants surrounding the square. We had a beer at one of these outside the Museum... More

Right after I dropped my bags off at the hotel, I walked to Chiado until I reached the praça. The sun was out, the Tejo was glimmering in the sunlight and the bars around were filled with people having coffee. It was lovely. The next day I passed through the praça on my way to Alfama but the sky was... More

Loads of bars and shops on the way down to the square then a nice large square with restaurants and bars lining it. Great photo opportunities here with the water one side and beautiful architecture all around! Worth a visit and a great area to explore from as it's near alfalma.

The arch leading to this part of Lisbon is very imposing and certainly once you cross under it, you come upon an area that is a true delight to walk around in. The arch itself is great for photophiles and the water lies just in the distance. I would definitely not skip this area during a visit to Lisbon!

A place tha reminds us tha Portuguese was once a mighty empire, filled with Glory and riches. During the Golden age a main port for ships of the merchant fleet a place of trading. Now a reminder of the former Glory. Worth the visit and nice to take photos. You wont regret it.

Very nice place to walk for a while. The square has lots of lovely places around, and also a beautiful view of the sea/river.
