The Praça do Comércio (commerce square) was the centerpiece of the reconstruction after the earthquake of 1755. Its main attraction is a monumental equestrian statue of king José I. A place worth visiting!

This very very big square at the river side. You might wanna avoid the square late at night cuz of the various offers of drugs.

If you go strolling around town (which you will), you will inevitably make your way here ... and you'll inevitably enjoy the atmosphere and the architecture. Nothing in particular will jump out and make you go "wow" but you'll still have a lovely stroll.

One of the most beatiful landscapes towards the river. This place sounds and feels like history, when lisbon was the center of the world

Spend some time wandering up and down it really is nice. The bustle of the street is great, walk off the street to take a break and get a drink or something to eat. There's some lovely shops and some amazing cake shops.

This place is in front of the sea and around it there is a lot of cafes and bars to chill out, it is also close to a very comercial area. Great place to have a drink. I am not rating as great because the service in this places are not fantastic but it is ok.

The monumental arches and the view over the river have to be seen, a place for all kinds of open stage performances, live gigs (free) on a Sunday - even the football championship was on a massive screen for live broadcasting in the most peaceful atmosphere, a must to see is the 'museum of beers' restaurant. All major public transport... More

I first saw this on my early morning walk then in the evening. In the morning no one was around and it was nice but in the evening the area had colour and many people sitting around enjoying the area. We'll worth the visit if only to sit and enjoy the experience.

If you are in the city for a few days this becomes a good way to orientate yourself. The square his huge and never felt overcrowded. Walking along the front to the train station if you are heading along the coast is far more pleasant than through the city. The architecture is grand and impressive with the sun shining off... More
