It is one of the largest squares in Europe, with some 36 000 m² (180m x 200m). It is the center of Lisbon, as well as its main square. There´s... More

Large waterfront square facing Tagus river with view of the Christo Rei. Also near the Triumphal Arch entering into the Baixa/Chiado area. You will see a little piece of Lisbon's beach area and entrance to ferries across the river. Nearby are cafes and places to rest.

Now that the square is recovered and only for walking it is a beautiful place to be, to appreciate the buildings around, to go up the Arch, or to seat and enjoy a drink in one of the restaurants while watching the sunset over the Tagus River, looking at 25th April Bridge and Cristo Rei statue.

You must see to feel and know what the real sunlight means. It's kinda magic. And the buildings that surrounds the square are just magnificent.

It was build after the earthquake, so they had an intention to make some grand entrance from the sea and did it well. It does look like a facade of a great empire. It's also filled with shops, people, music, dining tables right in the middle of the street (which makes it even more lively and welcoming). There are a... More

It is located in the heart of Lisbon. We had some great photos taken there. Lovely walk during the day with a lot of shops and cafés to get some rest.

Arriving at the Lisbon airport is nice. Taking the metro into the city and then submerge at the Rossio square is good. Walking through the Rua Augusta is great. But your holiday really start when you enter this marvelous square and overlook the river, the 25th April bridge and the Cristo Rei statue.

The Praça do Comércio (commerce square) was the centerpiece of the reconstruction after the earthquake of 1755. Its main attraction is a monumental equestrian statue of king José I. A place worth visiting!

This very very big square at the river side. You might wanna avoid the square late at night cuz of the various offers of drugs.

If you go strolling around town (which you will), you will inevitably make your way here ... and you'll inevitably enjoy the atmosphere and the architecture. Nothing in particular will jump out and make you go "wow" but you'll still have a lovely stroll.
