we spent 2 weeks in lisbon and 12 nights at this place.... it is soooo awesome... like a 1950's old boys club.... with wood panelled walls and comfy overstuffed chairs.... the waiters are throwbacks to the fities and you can have any type of port that you have ever wanted to try... at an attainable price...not too often that you... more

This place is maybe attractive for those who are really interested in Port wine and here can get an opportunity to taste many different sorts of Port wine at one place. The Solar do Vinho do Porto is located in the Bairro Alto almost opposite the summit of the Gloria funicular. Situated in an old mansion it's run by the Port Wine Institute, the official organisation which governs and promotes wines from the Douro valley.
