Chiado is where everyone is going in Lisbon. A for a good reason. This is the place where you can do a lot of things, visit monuments, shop, see some stunning views of Lisbon, stay out in a café, see the vibrancy of Lisbon, with the tourists and inhabitants passing by, It is also close to Baixa,(downtown) or Bairro Alto... Full of tourists and locals alike. Be careful of pickpockets. Beautiful buildings, statues, fountains and squares. Lisbon is hilly so wear good shoes

Interesting area of old buildings and shops. Road Tram 28, very narrow streets! Enjoyed the scenery.

Always busy with tourists and locals alike. At night there are beggars and those trying to sell illicit drugs. Usual array of tourist supplies if that is your thing. Shopping is okay with some beautiful book stores. Well heeled locals parading is always enjoyable.

Street life, shops, cafes and all sorts of people in a charming combination makes your pulse and shoulders go down, a smile fasten on your lips, and the conversation go easy.

Had a hotel in this part of town it's especially lovely at night. Loved the tiles. The only downside were some weird characters around, but I believe that cannot be helped.
