Nice old elevator with lovely wood panelling which takes you up to a really good view over Lisbon. Also a short-cut to getting up into the hills without the climb

The view is great you can see a lot of the city. It is not thay expensive but either way you can just walk up from behind so no need to actually pay for the lift. But I guess the lift itself is the experience. If you have been to paris and went uo the eiffel tower you should also... More

Beingredients renovated when we visited but we got up to the 4th floor and the views are stunning of the city the 5th floor was closed at the time. Very interesting ride up in the old lift and a very impressive structure, well worth a trip and not expensive

You can have a beautiful view from the elevator for only 5 euros, but for a better view I recommend to go to bairo alto

Very interesting landmark to look at and very ornate but a complete rip off at €5 to complete the trip to the top. View from the ground and walk up to see the top but not worth paying for the ride.

Found this underwhelming. Waited in line to go up. I had the green metro card so did not have to pay to go up. But once at the top you have to pay more to go to the view point. Unecessary as you can see most of the city from this floor. Not great customer service either.

The old elevator is beautiful no doubts. If you visit it from tourist point of view, you can get on top absolutely free, just go up heal and enter from back side. View is great from top

The queue could at first look a little intimidating but it is worth the (not so long after all) wait! If you have a Lisbon Card or a Viva Viagem Card with zapping, you can use it to get on board! There is a little extra to pay once off the lift to get on the panoramic platform. The view... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
