This is lovely to see, from the outside, but you will queue for nearly an hour for a very short trip inside a lift!!! Really not worth it!!! If you really want to experience it, there is much less queuing to go down than up, you can use your 24hour pass for the metro to ride the lift for free.... More

This is certainly not worth the massive wait there was this week with the queue going down the road. We had a 3 and a 5 year old with us and walked up to the top in just a few minutes with no problem- just walk through the bottom of the lift, turn left then first right and first right... More

Amazing view from the top, very crowded during the day. So we came early next day. I used the Lisbon car and paid only for Euro 2 to get up.

Horrendous queues due to terrible organisation, not just the amount of people wanting to visit . Queued for a good thirty minutes only to finally get inside one of the lifts and have to wait another ten or so minutes so those who didn't have a ticket already could have the options tediously explained to them.( which to be fair... Take the funicular up instead. Walk up towards pink street. It's a little after the end of pink street.

Basically this can be visited if you walk behind the parallel street behind and climb two flights of stairs and one steep street. This brings to a lovely piazza and also the national guard museum and the archeology museum. The it's just a walk up a few flights to the back of the tower and fantastic views. The money you save can be... There's no need to join the long, long queues, you just walk up some gentle streets, and you're there in 3 minutes ! No cost, either. You come up to the Museum of Archaeology, a ruined cathedral, and the top of the lift is just there to the side. You can walk along the walkway above the streets and see... More

The structure itself is quite impressive. Originally it was built to move people from the lower area to the higher area, now a massive tourist attraction with a not so great view. @instabuilt

It is an unusual and unique attraction of Lisbon, vertical street lift - not only a transportation way. Its exterior is iron made and can see the connection with Gustave Eiffel’s work, as Raul Mésnier was his apprentice The acces up to the top is not available for wheelchairs, as there is to climb the winding forged steel staircase to... This was my second trip to Lisbon, having seeing this tower previously I was determined to see what all the fuss was about. The tower itself is a magnificent piece of engineering and very photogenic. I am not a great believer in elevators or lifts and prefer to take the healthy option of stairs. My opinion on this if you... More
