There is a metro station nearby and also some coffee shops, fastfoods etc. A big square, serving as a meeting point also. Just watch the not so normal placing of the statue!!

Rossio Square is fringed with restaurants which spill out onto the sidewalks. It's a pleasant place to eat and people-watch. We had a late supper at one restaurant there, sitting outside and enjoying the cool evening weather. We ordered, and while we were waiting, the waitress returned with a small plate of thin toast and two small pots of something.... More

We spent some time in central Lisbon last month. We were amazed at the regularity and the openness with which we were approached on the streets with offers of drugs. We noticed that one pusher - a good-looking, well-built man in his twenties, who looked as if he could take care of himself - patrolled a particular stretch of pavement... More

We got to know about this place through the tour guide Clara, who gave us a free walking tour. It was a strategic meeting point to go around the area and know about the architectural history of the place. Clara did a good job is providing us the richness of the history and culture of Old Lisbon, allowing us to... More

This beautiful square is located in the heart of the city and is on the AeroBus route, so you can easily access it on your way into the city center from the airport. This is a great place to shop, see some nearby historic sites, and also admire the architecture of this beautiful city all in one place.

It seems difficult to ever miss Rossio Square as it is located at the heart of the city. This is a beautiful square. It has a wavy ground design of Portuguese mosaics, a tall column and two magnificent bronze fountains imported from France. It is surrounded by elegant buildings and some nice cafés. At one end stands the National Theater... More

If there's a single 'centre' of Lisbon this is probably it and it's buzzing day and night. The square itself and the surrounding streets are jammed with cafes and restaurants, so you won't be short of places choice when it comes to food. Most have the menu (in multiple languages), on display and, though there is usually someone trying to... More

While attractive during the day, this plaza really comes out at night with its double fountains and neoclassical backdrop. The wide array of good and affordable food establishments make it a great evening hit.

One of the main tourist areas and meeting points of the city. The arch and the statue are impressive but there’s not much more to see. It is spoiled slightly by the inability to walk for any decent length of time without being offered drugs. We knew this went on before we arrived in Lisbon but it was still annoying.
