A brilliant day out. We have visited a lot of aquariums and this one was fabulous. It has a fantastic collection of fish, rays, sharks and other animals (including sea otters). Well worth a visit and, if you have kids, don't miss the fantastic interactive Science Museum 'Ciencia Viva' a few minutes walk away.

I haven't been to many aquariums so I have a poor frame of reference with which to judge this one. The central tank is huge and there are some really interesting fish in it, not least the sunfish which is one of the weirdest looking things I have ever seen. The penguins are always cool. The sea otters seem to... More

The place is huge and it has an option of two routes - shorter and longer one. We went with the 2.5-year-old boy therefore, we took the shorter one. We all enjoyed it very much. The main tank is amazing and it has so many creatures in it that you can watch for a very long time. Sharks were huge... More

This has to be one of the best aquariums in the world. It is mainly one enormous tank that is incredibly naturalistic with an amazing assortment of Fish and sealing. A wonderful day out that I'd highly recommend to anyone.

This aquarium is outstanding with a huge main tank and four smaller tanks representing the four oceans. Highly recommend.

Staying in Parque das Nacoes

Neighborhood Profile
Parque das Nacoes
This neighborhood was built up at the end of the 1990s mostly because of the Expo '98. The pavilions and structures that once were the home of all the Expo's attractions and exhibits are still culturally and artistically significant. In Parque das Nações you'll explore conference and concert pavilions, a shopping center, trendy restaurants and an enjoyable cable car ride you can't miss out on. On top of this, the amazing Lisbon Oceanarium (one of the most spectacular things you'll ever see in the city) will take your breath away: its respect and will to preserve natural wildlife is uncanny. Easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi from the city center, Parque das Nações is highly recommended for anyone who'll spend more than 3 days in the Portuguese capital.
