The castle is worth a visit both for the views of Lisbon from it and for the castle itself, but the ticket is quite expensive.

If you want to see a castle like in the movies, you must visit the St George's Castle. It is worth to walk on top of the walls and climb to the towers. If you are with kids, watch out because there are not enough protection from the walls and towers. It was one of the best spots I visited... More

If you`ve ever been to any UK castle or you live in UK, i wouldn`t recommend you this place for not to be disappointed.Nothing interesting at all, except views.. In all other cases, you can try. Price is 8 EUR (overpriced for views only). There are a lot of nice places with fantastic views in old part of Lisbon and... More

To get there I would sugest taking a taxi, Going down is much better than climbing Mt. Everest. The views are just fantastic, Its 360 degrees of beautiful sites. If you dont have much time to see this city then this is the place to go. We went on a Monday when the lines were small, there are student prices... More

Great view of Lisbon. Wonderful sea breeze to a shaded platform around the castle. I could have lounged there all day.

On the highest hill overlooking all of Lisbon sits this wonderful part castle and part fort. Getting up there and back down is an adventure in itself, but well worth the effort. Yes there are peacocks all around, and yes they will pose for a photo if you are lucky. If you missed the "castle" on your last trip, do... More

There are a lot of interesting things to see when you work your way up to the top of the hill to visit St George's Castle overlooking Lisbon. We were unfortunate with our October day when it rained seriously. Somewhere to return to in better weather.

Going up is hard work but the odd look over your shoulder will spur you on to the heights of this place. As well as seeing a well preserved and presented castle in Lisbon's history you get to linger on the parrapets and stare out over the city and the river, out to the bridge and Christ the King on... Don't take the tram up - walk the streets. The views over the city and worth the walk. Great photo op, especially near sunset.
