Visited on a Sunday morning. Lovely grounds with a lot of walks and water features. The Museum is free on a Sunday. Not sure if there are charges on the other days. The standard of art in its various forms is extremely high, in my opinion and there is just enough to take in in any one visit. Should not... More

Not to be missed! The museum building alone is worth the visit with the gardens. The collection it houses is pristine, with high quality objects and art in every category. Plus a lovely cafeteria/restaurant indoor outdoors/ food is good.

Outstanding esoteric collections from a variety of cultures and periods. If you visit Lisbon, this is a "must" stop. Allocate some extra time during your visit to this museum complex to stroll through the adjoining gardens and have a light meal at one of the two reasonably-priced and informal restaurants. Local residents of Lisbon make the gardens and restaurant part... More

Our hotel was nearby so we walked over. The museum is on large grounds and the best way in is not clear. But never mind - you'll enjoy the grounds. The museum is not large but has much to see. I'd say it emphasizes what's beautiful - you could look at any piece for a long time in appreciation. Hard... More

The venue itself has a pleasant garden setting, very good standard restaurant and reasonably good shop which should have much better postcards. the ancient and Middle Eastern exhibits are outstanding, much better than the European collection which was not as good as I expected given Gulbenkian's reputation for "only the best." The Iznik and Persian ceramics, lamps, carpets and exquisite... More

Hidden away from most other museums in Lisbon this was an invaluable gift to Lisbon and Portugal. Many antiquities from one persons private collection generously displayed for all to see. A MUST SEE when you visit Lisbon.

We spent there around 2 hours in a rainy afternoon - it was a very good choice considering the circumstances. Beautiful small museum, deserves a visit.
