To reach the Cristo rei you need to get the ferry from the terminal in Cais do Sodre to Cacilhas and then get the 101 bus to the sanctuary and the statue... Once you arrive at the feet of the Christ Statue you will have a 360° view of the surrounding places... Definitely worth the price and the ride...

For a few euros a lift takes you to near the top of this massive structure. From there a few winding stairs lead you to the viewing platform which is large. The panoramic view is terrific as is the closer view of the statue itself. Quite an experience. The view ffrom the bottom is free and good but going up... More

We took the trip from Cais do Sodre to Cacilhas by ferry and then the 101 bus. An easy trip. We didn't go up the monument but went for the view from outside which is free. The view back to Lisbon and the 25 April Bridge is fantastic

This was one cheap ferry ride to Almada and then a bus to Cristo Rei from central Lisbon. Both forms of transport are cheap and the route is scenic. I recommend going as the view over the river is wonderful from Cristo Rei, also if you go when the sun is just shining behind Jesus it looks like a halo... More

This is not one of the main highlights for a first time visitor, except if you are fan of viewpoints. From the top of Cristo Rei you will have an open view not only Lisbon but as well for all south area. Obviously the visit is recommended in a clear day so that you see all the main monuments like... Great to visit, not for the monument or surrondings but the great view to Lisbon from the other side of the large river of Europe

It's worth taking the time to travel there. Best way to get there is by ferry and bus (line 101). Keep in mind that you cannot use your green metro card in the bus. One way costs 2€ per person and leaves every 30min. It's one bus going up and down. The ride up the statue is 4€ but is... More

After being coming to Lisbon many times, we finally got to Cristo Rei (The Christ Statue) on the other side of the river. It was an easy trip from Cais da Sodre ferry station to Cacilhas where we took bus 101 up to the park. The views of Lisbon are great. We didn't feel we missed anything even though the... More

It's a long and convolved trek to visit the Christo Rei from Lisbon City centre. We took 2 trains and a bus ride and then walked up a back alley to reach it. I think when they built it they didn't expect people to visit it, just admire it from Lisbon. It took about an hour to reach from the... More
