This is a copy of the statue in Rio in Brazil at two thirds the size, even so it's still impressive. You've got to get the ferry over from the city but that is enjoyable too. The monument itself is high, I mean HIGH, a gentle breeze at the bottom is a gale at the top. There's a lift to... More

Drove our car over the bridge that looks like the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransisco towards the statue this was impressive itself. Followed the signs to the site and surprised we didn't have to pay to park in the car park. Great views over Lisbon from the view point overlooking Lisbon then paid 4 Euros to go to the... More

Despite its great size, this statue has real feeling and presence. We were less impressed by the modern metal rendition of Mary near his feet, and new since our first visit 27 years ago. When we first visited, we drove over the river and easily up to the statue. This time, it was very difficult to find, even with a... More

Honestly, this place is a must for anyone visiting Lisbon. It has one of the most impressive views (if not the most impressive) over Lisbon, Alcantara, Algés, Belém, ... You can see from Ponte Vasco da Gama to the east all the way up to Serra de Sintra to the West. There is a fee for going to the top... More

Take the first ferry across and beat the crowds !! The bus Upto the monument is every 30 minutes and we just missed the 10am one but we were glad we waited as its a fair old trek !!! The views are spectacular and would have been better if it hadn't been hazy but still well worth going up !!... More

The view of Lisbon is spectacular. You can buy a 4 EUR ticket and take an elevator most of the way to the top, climp a couple og flights and the have an only slightly better view than from the ground. But now we can cross it from our bucket list!

Although not that accessible (you have to cross the river), it is definitely worth it! It's a unique experience and the feeling you get up there, watching over Lisbon is amazing!

Be careful. Location shown in the Trip Advisor map is wrong. In that location you find only a mall. Could not visit the place. After I have found out that the actual location is crossing the huge bridge. Very far from the place shown in map.

Even though it is a little bit of a journey to reach, this attraction is definitely worth the effort! It is massive and beautiful. Very impressive. For 4 euro, you can take the elevator to the top and it is totally worth doing this. Fantastic views and photos of Lisbon, the Tagus river, Almada and much of the surrounding countryside.... More
