Beautiful monument located in a park that gives a magnificent view of Lisbon and the river. Impressive monument of Christ that resembles the Christ in Rio de Janeiro.

The view at the top of Cristo Rei was stunning. You could see Lisbon, Tagus river and the 25 April bridge and not forgetting, Jesus. We reached there at 6.20pm which was almost closing time (they close at 6.30pm) but the staff allowed us to visit the top of the statue, giving us some allowance time. only ushering us down... More

Worth the effort and time for the unique view across the Tagus to downtown Lisbon and the 25 April bridge. Bus 101 the quickest, but the quayside and elevator route looks the more interesting. Suggest combine Cristo Rei with exploring the ships in dry dock at Cacilhas. Garry

re-visiting a site can be fraught with disappointments for many reasons. When we returned to Cristo Rei statue we found it better than before. The site now has monuments and the signage has improved. There is now a sculpture of Mary and the pathways are more defined. The best thing about the visit was that , with friends we discovered... More

We took the ferry from Cais do Sodre terminal, costing about 5euro return, crossed the river in about 10 minutes, jumped on the 101 bus, 2euro return, paid 5euro to go to the top and it was worth every penny! The views were absolutely amazing, you can see the whole city and beyond. If visiting Lisbon, you must visit Cristo... More

Great story behind why this monument was erected. Much larger in person. We didn't go up but we did pass by. If you have the time they view would be incredible!

I was at a loose end for an afternoon and decided to take the ferry from Lisbon's Cais do Sodre ferry terminal to Cacilhas on the opposite bank of the Tagus. From there, rather than take public transport, I decided to walk up to the statue. I see someone wrote that it took them about 30 minutes to do the... More

Across the Tejon river is the Cristo Rei statue, an exact duplicate of the Christ the Redeemer statue of Rio de Janerio. A short trip here is certainly worth a stop, especially if the weather is nice. From the park you get commanding views of the 25th of April Bridge and Lisbon itself. You can visit the top of the... A visit here requires planning and may not be worth the effort. Yes, the views are spectacular but not more than from the ferry which takes one back to Lisbon from Cacilhas. Something to do for those who have done evertything else.
