We found it was not super easy to get here, but we found a really nice taxi driver that was willing to take us and stay until we finished seeing the Cristo Rei. It was definitely worth the side trip. The views are beautiful, and the statue is so beautiful and impressive.

We visited this monument in September, 2014. To get there, take a ferry from a terminal near Cais do Sodre metro station, I think the price was 2.90Euro for a return trip. Once you dock on the other side, take bus 101 up to the monument. You have to buy a ticket for the monument (5 Euro each) and a... More

I liked this place, although I've been to Lisbon multiple times I hadn't been here yet. At the bottom you can take some nice pictures of Lisbon but at the top the view is even more beautiful. You can also take a picture of yourself next to the bridge (Ponte 25 de Abril) and make your friends believe on social... More

You will have an amazing Lisbon view and also a view of the past, because the building architecture will take you back to the "Estado Novo" period.

we took the ferry to this. if doing this if your walking it is quite a walk up to it so ensure good footwear. There are buses and trams that take you near so worth making use of them. You can go up a lift to the feet of jesus, but we didn't do this. We went just to see... More

100% worth the trek even if you're in town for a couple days at most - the statue itself is impressive to see (makes you appreciate Rio's version even more I suppose!) and there's an incredible view overlooking Vasco Da Gama bridge that you can easily enjoy for a very long time. Highly recommended.

I took the ferry over to go visit the Cristo Rei. I decided to walk up...and up and up and up! Following the signs that lead up to the sanctuary. I arrived at 19:45 and it apparently closes at 18:45- so I saw the back of Cristo Rei! Would have been nice if they had put the opening hours on... More

The big statue of Cristo Rei, imitating the Rio de Janeeiro Crist statue, is an impressing monument seen from far. It is located on the southern bank of the Tagus river in the municipality of Almada city. There are plenty parking places nearby The access is by crossing the river through the nearby 25thv April bridge. Almada is quite close... More
