A few euros and 20 minute ferry crossing from cais do sodre terminal takes you across to Cacilhas where you can get bus 101 and 10 minutes later you're dropped off at the base of the monument. Its a magnificent statue housing a simple church with awesome contemporary religious paintings. You can then take the lift (plus some spiralling stairs)... More

I went to the ferry located across the street from Cais do Sodre station to head to the Cristo Rei statue. At first I was a bit confused as to which gate to use until I asked a young bystander who looked like he might speak English. The correct ferry gate to Cristo Rei is Cacilhas. Upon debarking on the... More

Good views from that side of the river towards Lisbon. The best view of the 25April bridge from here. It was fun to do. There is a lift for most of the way up, however some steps too. Cafe just outside the statue and gift shop inside just before the top. It was a windy day. Great photos though. We... More

Worth a visit whether you're a Catholic or not. It's a bit Rio de Janeiro's Cristo Redentor style... The view is the best you ll ever get of Lisbon and of the 25th of April bridge. Best in the afternoon...

Christo Rei for us meant the trip to the opposite side where we can observe Lisbon from another perspective. The view to Lisbon was much more spectacular from the park as from above the Christo Rei huge piedestal. With the lift you reach only piedestal and not even the foot of the Christ. Going to the top is just to... More

We got over the sea with the boat with the local bus ticket. Cheap and easy. Took additionally a bus up to the hill where the statue is. There's a tourist office where you can get a map and guidance how to get to the statue. There was not too many people at the statue so it was nice, relaxing... More

We ended up having to take a taxi to get to the statute but found it very worth it. Not sure if the bridge you cross to get here was before the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fran or not but it looks the same (same color too) It allows you to look out on to Lisbon. Really pretty. You... More

Scenic view of Lisbon and the Ocean. There is a small park. I didn"t go to the top. The view was great already just staying in the park.

The place is nice. It was a short stop we made when travelling to Lisbon from the south. The views of Lisbon are nice, but the views from the Lisbon Castle are MUCH better. If nearby, do pay the site a visit, but I would not make this a tourist destination itself.

We passed by as part of a tour on our way to Sesimbra so can't comment on the ease of how to get there but once there, even before you go up the views over Lisbon and the 25th April bridge are great, it costs €4pp to go up, mostly done by elevator with a few stairs to climb afterwards.... More
