It used to be a truly great place - some decades ago! Nowadays it is of a very, very low level. Definitely not to go there!!!

You can get to Tamariz by car, train, bus or walking. Very central and a munificent beach to take the kids, the waves are small and the sand is white.

We spent 2 days on this beach in August 2015. It has a great location in the center of Estoril (train stop Estoril). It has a small part where you can rent a sunbed and an umbrella, for 7 euros each. The one issue we had with this beach was that it was relatively small and thus became crowded around... More

Nice sandy beach, very popular with tourists. I recommend bringing a beach umbrella as there is not much shade. Not a large beach but worth a visit.

Beautiful vibrant beach with soft sand, clean water and facilities on hand. Sun beds and lifeguards. Beautiful people and a lovely beach for all ages right beside rail and road

You cannot have a good swim in Cascais or Estoril. Water is icy even in August, it makes your muscles crump. Long distance swim is quite a risky adventure. You can encounter many quite large jellyfishes. I do not know if this variety of jellyfishes sting, but I prefer not to try. If you swim wearing googles, you would see... More

Tamariz beach is not great, it's one of the first train stops in Estoril from Lisbon and its a beach that is heavelly policed as it has a less desirable element. Praia da conceicao or Praia da rainha a little closer to cascais are far far better. You can rent a sunshade and chairs, there are reasonable toilets and you... More

Super beach - plenty of space as so many other sandy beaches in walking distance. Option to purchase fixed natural looking parasol and sun beds for the day very cheaply. Otherwise sand is comfortable and clean for lying on. Sea blue and crystal clear. However - take note from locals who tend to stand up to thighs in it to... More
