Very few boats moving and the historical attraction closed until March 2016 for renovation. Just lots of empty fishing nets and the Christmas fair and big wheel

When visiting Cascais, it is worth strolling around the Castelo walls and the Marina. There are a lot of restaurants ... and yachting lovers will appreciate the nice sailing boats waiting for wind to go West ...

The marina is very close to Cascais city centre. You can see how rich people can afford to buy large boats. But there are also fishingboats that are more interseting to see. The citadel is overlooking the marina.

If you like picturesque harbor scenes, add this to your list. Great for watching boats and people and some lovely eating spots right on the water.

Among a few palaces and monuments and a seafront fortress with a superb hotel inside the walls you'll find this beautiful Marina - quite close to the Bay of Cascais with its lovely tiny fishermen's boats ! A few very good restaurants and services - a good leather shop, a stationer's/gift shop with typical souvenirs and others . . .... More

we walked along here to see all the different types of yaughts. You pass all the fishermen mending their nets etc and find all these great yaughts hundreds of them all shapes and sizes.Watched a regatta one day and both enjoyed it

Shopping and sightseeing in the morning and than in the train to Cascais for a great afternoon at the beach. It's so close to Lisbon centre and a real beach atmosphere with enough restaurants and chairs for rent at the beach.

Thank Sandra B
