The coach museum has a large collection of coaches dating from the times of kings... they are beautiful and well preserved. A must see to appreciate the value of them. More

Beautiful collection of coaches and carriages. They have the oldest coach in the world; it belonged to King Filipe II of Spain. There are also the coaches of Portuguese embassy to the Pope, in the XVII century, they're magnificent and opulent. The place is superb. More

The National Coach Museum (Museu Nacional dos Coches, in Portuguese) has lots of nice royal coaches from early 18th century to early 20th century, so you can see a progression of these in very good condition. It's a nice musuem a bit to the east of the San Jeronimos monastery. To confess, we visited because it was free on Sundays,... More

Awesome, and not very expensive. On Sunday around 10 or 12 they have the changing of the guard there and it’s a whole parade with two bands, horses, marching. Very much worth a look. It’s not very big and is packed with gorgeous carriages from different times and countries. I would walk closely to a tour group and listen to... More

The museum is located in Belem and next to the famous Belem pastry shop. There are 70 well preserved coaches and the history of each coach is in Portugese and in English. It... More

Once you get to Belem, the coach museum is near the President's residence and the pastry cafe. The intricacy and size of of the €17thcentury coaches enthralled us. There was also small snippets of History a story to go with many of the coaches concerning royalty. It is one of the biggest or the biggest coach museum on the world,... More
