I had hoped to see more species of whales, but nature cannot be prediceted. We were able to see Cei whales about 50 metres away, but two adults and one young whale stuck around for a while blowing and surfacing. The best part however where the dolphins. So amazing. We got to see two types. They came and played with... More

One of the best experiences of my life. Magical to be out on the ocean together with the animals in their natural environment.

We visited the Azores towards the end of May, and booked the Swim with Dolphins package with Luís Correia at Futurismo. We had a fantastic time. Everything was extremely well organised and the package was a good balance between doing an activity and having enough free time to do our own thing. The activities were a good balance between the... Went out on a big rubber boat full of people, felt very safe the entire time. Saw a pod of common dolphins - got to see the creation of nature in action - and saw two fin whales and two sperm whales filling up on oxygen before they raised their tales and dove deep. The group leader was extremely knowledgeable... More

Saw 3 Sperm Whales , Shearwaters and a pod of 50+ Bottlenose Dolphins many Kilometers out at sea and east of Ponta Delgardo. Travelled on a Zodiac inflatable, quite a journey. Briefing and safety equipment was excellent, guide on the boats identified and explained well. A magic trip that was well organised and productive.

There is nothing bad to mention for Futurismo except this: when on the catamaran a warning is not given when the stopped boat starts on it's journey again. This means that it can be dangerous if you don't pay enough attention. Recommendation: if you are traveling to Pico go for whale watching there instead of on Sao Miguel - the... More

They hunt, they seek, they inform and make sure that it is a worthwhile experience. While whales can be elusive, the tour guides knew their stuff and managed to track down three fin whales as well as two pods of dolphins (common and bottlenose) - working with two other very fast boats they all shared sightings and kept close to... After 10 minutes briefing, the operators of the company give all passangers clothes and inform all what you should be aware off. The success of the expedition is always conditioned due to several reasons. We had the possibility to see two tile do dolphins and Whales. Price per person 50€. Time of the sedition 3 hours.

We spent two days with this company, combining whale-watching in the morning with trips out on the island in the afternoon. All the staff are very knowledgeable, from the marine biologists to the guides. Seeing whales and dolphins in their natural environment is unbeatable, and the staff do their utmost to ensure sightings although nothing is guaranteed. We were fortunate... More
