Very professional operation. Staff was informative and helpful, and many spoke English well. Cost was competitive. We stopped still when we located groups of dolphins (2 different breeds) and had amazing up close picture opportunities. We took the larger vessel, a large catamaran. It was equipped with a washroom and plenty of observation seating above deck. Unfortunately we didn't see... More

We went whale watching on a foggy day with a delay of an hour. Because the crew wanted to be sure that there was something to see before setting out. After more than an hour of not seeing anything we spotted a small group of dolphins. The day became even better when we spotted three sperm whales. After they left... More

Like many tourists we signed up for the whale watching with Futurismo. We had no problem during the trip and there was indeed a biologist onboard but overall we would NOT recommend it because it is far too expensive. The trip only lasted 2.5 hours and we paid 55 euros! Other companies in Ponta Delgada do it for much cheaper... More

Dear Pauline, We are sorry to read that you are not satisfied regarding the price and duration of your whale watching tour. Perhaps it was not explained clearly that we operate based on responsible dolphin and whale watching practices and we pride ourselves in following the rules for approaching and respecting the animals. One such rule which is written in... More

Knowledgable and professional staff. Great boats and trips. Whales and dolphins in abundance. All added up to an unforgettable experience. We completely loved our three trips with Futurisimo. Highest recommendation goes to the trip on the rib boat. Much more involving than the catamarans but each has its positives. The feeling of being up close to the dolphins and close... More

Took the family on the whale watching trip on the catermran, good safety breifing and information on the trip. We saw 3 different pods of dolphins and a fin whale, really enjoyable trip.

Very enjoyable four hours out at sea. Sperm Whales leaping and crashing into the water, dolphins playing and wonderful views along the island shores to keep you interested there and back. It's a big ocean out there and it feels deep. Just wish I had worked out how to take better photos of those fast moving subjects on the rolling... More

Went out on the half day (2.5 hour) whale/dolphin watching tour with my wife & 10 month old child. Having an infant with us, we had to take the catamaran tour as opposed to the zodiaks. Not much luck seeing whales, but we did catch a glimpse of 2 sperm whales. Could only see them for a few minutes &... More

We went out twice with this provider- once on the big boat and the second time on the smaller of the two zodiacs. We saw whales and dolphins on both trips, and they were both good experiences. The big boat allows you to move around as much as you would like, and gives a different vantage point in viewing the... More

After two attempts (bad weather) I eventually got out with futurismo. It's €55 for the larger boat, and the duration is advertised at three hours. Safety briefs are thorough, and staff are helpful and polite. We departed 30 mins later than scheduled, but after 10 mins found a pod of dolphins and false killer whale. We then followed smaller boats... More

Cliche title but they really are a great tour provider. We only went for the whale and dolphin watching which did NOT disappoint! Though it took some hours, the sight of a sperm whale breaching the ocean was an incredible spectacle, and the hunt just as exciting.
