With 24 years of Futurismo Azores Adventures behind us, we are proud of our reputation for excellence in active tourism in the Azores archipelago - Portugal.

Futurismo is now the largest active tourism company that offers a variety of packages of sea and land activities throughout the Azores archipelago year-round whale and dolphin watching tours, swimming with dolphins, hiking tours, bicycle tours (MTB and road bike) and jeep and van tours.

We run tours for people who like to experience the islands while aiming to immerse themselves in our culture and heritage, tasting traditional food and drink, learning about the wildlife of the islands and appreciating the authentic landscapes away from the crowds. We aim to be a responsible tour company and encourage sustainable work practices in all aspects of our work.

Our company operates tours daily, as well as standard packages or tailor made packages for single travelers, groups or families. We also organize all land arrangements needed during your stay.

Our professional and friendly team includes multilingual guides and staff eager to share their passion for these beautiful islands. Our aim is to utilize our expert knowledge of the nature and landscapes of the Azores to create unforgettable experiences for our clients, often tempting them back to discover more!

The trip was professional and well organised, with friendly and knowledgable staff, who obviously love their job and the marine animals. We saw a sperm whale and 2 types of dolphin, which for the time of year was quite good.

I had booked a trip with this company to take us out whale watching, but during the week we were on the island the weather was unfavourable. The main reason being that the spotters on shore couldn't see far enough out to sea. I thought that it was fair of the company to offer either another trip or a full... More

Whilst there were no guarantees, especially as it was out of season for the migratory whales, we saw no one, but two schools of dolphins, common and bottlenose, and the icing on the cake a sperm whale. Futurismo are very flexible and aim to give you the best experience possible.

My daughter and I had been booked in to a whale watching trip as part of a package arranged in the UK but after reading some of the other recent reviews on TA were resigned to not necessarily seeing to see any sperm whales in January. However we were lucky to see a 17metre resident of these local waters as... More

Thank you for your feedback. The weather conditions here in São Miguel during the winter are a little bit unpredictable but we do have our resident species here, the sperm whales, common dolphins and bottlenose dolphins. As we inform in our briefing we cannot predict the animals behaviour and that's why sometimes we are a little bit unlucky with the... More

We realize the trip to see whales with Futurismo. We didn't expected to much because we went to the island in january. We wanted to see whales. The trip is 50$ (in season 55$) cost, which is a little bit expensive in the winter... The trip lasts about three and a half hour. We saw sperm whales for a while... More

We enjoyed this experience, even more so because we saw a sperm whale. If you didn't see a whale you might be disappointed, although you are guaranteed to see plenty of dolphins. Futurismo is a professional company and safety is a priority which was good to see. We were invited for a cup of green tea after the tour where... More

Really enjoyed this outing, even though it was during one of the months that sees very little in terms of whale presence. It also happened to be during the month of January, which is when they service the main boat, so we had to go out in a rather small inflatable with uncomfortable seats. Despite this, I had a wonderful... More

Had a really good time, crew were very friendly and professional. After we saw the dolphons we watched the sunset over a glass of wine.. reasonably priced and lots of fun. Would recommend.

We had great time with Futurismo. Some of the best staff in the industry. All committed to conservation of marine life, equipped with deep local knowledge, and keenly attuned to customer service.

My wife and I stopped by the futurismo booth on the port road of ponta delgada because my wife really wanted to do the dolphin swim that we've read so much about. The guy at the booth was super helpful, and really knew his stuff. He even warned us that because it was the end of the season, they might... More
