Visited the Loulé market and the Loulé Gipsy market twice in the past couple of years. But be aware: these are two different markets at different locations in Loulé. The local market in the city center (a red/pinkish moorish building at the Praca da República) is definitively worth a visit, enjoyed it every time. You can see locals selling produce... More

Good fun haggling with sellers. Selection of handbags, clothes, sunglasses, jewellery, tea towels etc. Waiting on bus we got a lovely freshly squeezed orange juice at café next door.

All they sell is fruit, veg and very smelly fish. Full of crippled beggars and people on stilts. Waste of time and euros.

Great gypsy market but watch out for the fake Rolex watches being sold. There are some fantastic bargains to be had here.

We visited in June and thought that the market was a bit smalle rthan in recent years. Still a good selection of things to buy. No public toilets but the tip is to park in the adjacent Continente and use their café and toilets. They do a very good coffee for 1 euro.

We visited the Gypsy Market while on holiday in April. Well worth a visit as both my teenagers are happiest when shopping and especially "haggling" for fake designer goods. All parties understand the quality of goods on offer and their provenance so, on that basis, a lot of fun was had. The downside for me was the trader who suggested... More

I really enjoyed my trip to loule, it was a very nice town. The Market I did not like, not very nice things.I had heard this from people in Albufiera. They do have a lot of very nice shoe shops with the town, nice cafes and a food market.

Loulé is a beautiful town with a lot of history and is a nice place to walk, the market is something I would not go out of my way to see,it is like all gypsy markets, with a few good stalls but the rest rubbish. The municipal mecardo is worth a visit on a saturday,Loule is also famous for its shoes.
