If you enjoy shopping in Euro/Pound shops, you will like the goods. Personally, it doesn't appeal to me. Twenty minutes to half an hour should see you through. There are no shops in the immediate area. Be aware, plenty of pickpockets frequent the market. This market is out in the open, not good for a wet day.

Loule Outdoor Market, or Gypsy Market, is well worth a visit if you are staying in the Algarve. A typical outdoor market with a host of goodies to purchase - clothes, shoes, leather goods, watches and jewellery, toys, handbags, towels and more. A bargain can be had by everyone. Many of the items have brand names - it is up... More

Lovely atmosphere, lots of bargains to be had, be prepared to haggle and just walk away if the stall holders become persistent .

This was our first stop on a day photo tour from the coast inland. We went to the interesting historic building and found it clean, attractive and well laid out in sections- dried fruit/ local drink; handicrafts and fish. The people were friendly. The prices reasonable. We ended up buying a cork hat for 45 euro ( which since the... More

Trip to Loule and the gypsy market booked with Thomson holidays. Dreadful and a waste of money. We were led to believe that a trip to the market followed by a couple of hours shopping in the cobbled streets of Loule. No...dropped at market, no sign of any shops, as we left the bus was told 10-15 minute walk to... More

A visit will take only 15 minutes for most people. All stands sell the same stuff, that is Christmas decoration or fake shirts and watches. Lets say it's just crappy stuff. Actually not worth a visit. Go to the original fruit and fish market which is in the center of the town.

We took a half day tour to Loule and the gypsy market. We quickly walked round the stalls. The goods were either counterfeit handbags or poor quality tablecloths etc. it was quite intimidating. We walked up into Loule and spent a couple of enjoyable hours in the town. There are lots of interesting shops in the narrow streets surrounding the... More

Only having a week's holiday in the Algarve, we thought we would try this Saturday trip out - half a day. We were picked up and dropped off with three hours to spend at the market. We found it to be pretty repetitive and be on your guard for fakes. Things are usually priced €5 or €10, if they are... More

Went with a tour and while the market was perhaps culturally interesting, the shopping aspect of it was poor. We enjoyed shopping in the general marketplace of the town much more.

Very poor range of shabby goods available. Knock off watches, jewellery and bags etc. Not really worth the visit! Head for the town's centre and cultural market.
