ornate gold leaf all over the wood carvings, lovely trompe l'oeul ceilings. sweet little museum with clean toilets too. Word of warning my husband left a bag by an interior wall, not visible from outdoors when we left and despite him running back within 5 minutes and also despite a man being at the desk and having to pay to... more

This was a pretty amazing place, but the best part, for a skeptic like me, was the eight large paintings depicting the so-called "miracles of St. Anthony". Some of these are so outlandish as to be laughable. They are actually fun to read about. In fact, the glossy guide book (about 3 euros) shows all 8 paintings in full color... more

I visited this church in the summer of 2006 on the recommendation of a tour guide on a day trip to Lagos. In order to reach the church, it is necessary to pass through a small adjacent museum, where the staff remain behind the desk to collect the entrance fee.
