family day out

Great place to take young kids. Went in December and had all Christmas decorations out. Monkies very funny to watch. Only downside probably to many birds.

We visited on a warm, bright day in January and were amongst perhaps fifty visitors so it felt as if we had the zoo to ourselves - a real treat. The animals are very visible, as they are all small or medium sized so don't need huge enclosures. Lots of beautiful birds, wallaby bouncing about free, otters, Pygmy hippo, mearcats,... More

A short bus travel from Lagos away on the route along Praia Dona Ana the Zoo is located outside the city. A nice place to chillout from business and stress, also a precious chance to learn more about wild animals an have tight direct contact to them. Have a look at the lovely kangaroos, parrots and ducks. You also may... More

Our sat nav didn't get us within 10km and we took the directions from their website (GPS coordinates). Still we carried on a bit and found the signs again. The place was clean and well managed, the farm exhibits were good and accessible. The food was terrible, the kids turned their nose up at 2 different meals. Normally theyd eat... More

A rather small and pleasant garden. Arrived at about 10.30 and we're the first and only visitors in the whole zoo in mid October. Main attractions were birds and monkeys, there were not too many other mammals. Loved the vegetation as well. We have found that the impressive hippo from roadside ads was just a pigmy:) Our family had fun... More

Cost 16 euros each to get in and we spent a couple of hours to get round it. Animals were kept clean and nice to see different birds to those we have in uk. We ate in the restaurant and had toasties and they were very nice and reasonable cost. Staff pretty miserable but it was end of season (oct)... More

A terrible experience for both the visitors and the animals, it was was difficult to work out who were the most unhappy, the staff or the animals (prisoners). marmosets who showed physical signs of distress with balding fur, reindeer kept in an enclosure no bigger than a double garage, larger primates enclosed on 'monkey island' comprising a bush/shrub, a tree... Is unbelievable how you can write about us like that!! We are members of credible Zoo Associations that are very professional at their goals. Your opinion is a lack of respect for our work and our image. If is a bad experience for the animals i don`t understand why we have such good breeding results of endangered species that participate... More

We visited Largos zoo early October, not many people visiting so almost walked around on our own, it was nice to sit and watch the monkeys of all types playing. Nice shady areas to watch and relax, lots for children to do and they can feed some animals and ducks

We went here while we were in Lagos. It was great. They had relaxation music playing all over the zoo. The animals all were active and seemed happy. We did the lemur interaction and it was EXCELLENT. The lemurs seemed happy to have us in the enclosure and we got to feed them. The food there is nice, not much... More
