We got to the beach via the path down next to the river, from Lagos town, and it's a much longer walk than you might imagine when you're stood at the bridge. A good 20 min walk I'd say. We've visited this beach in April and in October, and both times there wasn't much going on, but I get the... More

Walked this beach last week as far as the river. Very clean and great place to collect shells. A good walk.

We went during Summer but had no idea the water in this part of the world would be that frigid! It hurt to stand in. It was sooo cold we could only dip in and out, even our 4 girls (who are water babies and usually need dragging from the water) didn't swim. I can't comment on whether its typical... More

Beautiful beach with a few beach bars dotted along it's length. Great place for families and wonderful for long beach walks.

Lovely long flat beach can walk a long way on it. From Lagos you have to walk over foot bridge to marina then go down by side of the railway station down a track road past boatyard onto beach. If you dont get on there you have to go a good way down towards Meia Praia before you can get on... More

Meia Praia begins on the East side of the Lagos waterway and continues to the town of Alvor, about 5 KMs the sand is a slightly coarse gold with no rocks and very little trash. It is also very deep, running over 100 metres from the water to the brush. Walkways have been built to gain access from the beach... More

This is a huge long expanse of Beach, so big you dont know where to sit. Several Bars/Restaurants along its length offer good food and drink. No shelter anywhere or sunbeds but wonderful to walk along on the edge of the sea, 5 minutes from lagos town

Although we were here in the winter we visited this beach which is amazing, lovely fine sand and so long, had a great walk, nice looking beach bars, had lunch in one called Bahia, which was excellent, must go back in the summer.

Meia Praia is a beautiful beach, stretching for approximately 4 kilometres. It is a fine, sandy beach, a treat to walk on. The sea rolls in with waves that can be quite high, depending on the wind. It is great for a good walk, first thing on a March morning. It is so peaceful, with just a few people taking... More
