Not listed in many tourist books we found this to be one of the most interesting spots along the coast. On the east side of town follow the signs to Algar Seco. The paths go through the cliffs and you can get some wonderful pictures. Stairs have been carved into the rocks and lead you down to lower sections close... More

Absolutely beautiful place, quiet and classy. Marion, Caterina, Edite, Rosario, and Duarte, the administrative group are so wonderful. The gardeners, and housekeeping folks are so excellent and caring. We were here for quite a period of time and are missing it very much now that we are home. Hope to return next year. Would not stay any whew else.

Follow the signs for Algar Seco from Rua do Farol. park aloong the cliffside. Spectacular rocky formations, with gorgeous views across the ocean. Dont forget your camera. If you take the steps down, there is a lovely snack bar (closed in winter), where you can have fresh orange juice or spicey grilled prawns, or just a salad. Well worth the... More

The rock formations are awesome. You can walk throughout the cliffs and find all sorts of mini caverns. Be sure and wear comfortable shoes. There are steps accessible to walk to the cliffs and many worn paths as well. I highly recommend visiting this site for some beautiful photo opportunities.

This is a wonderful rock formation, or 'a window' called A Boneca, where you can enter and enjoy the ocean. The walk from Carvoeiro is a nice one through a well done path on the cliffs.

At Algar Seco you have wonderful views to the ocean. The friendly staff is quick and conscientious. The food comes in big portions (after a Lunch you don´t need a big evening meal) and tastes very nice.

In Carvoeiro is this beautiful place with interesting rock formations. On the boardwalk you can walk along the edge of cliffs. Steep stairs brings you to a small restaurant between bizarre rocks. In November, the restaurant was closed. We recommend to visit this place.

This amazing natural beauty was only made accesible by man. Nature did all the rest. Always go there when in Carvoeiro. Nice for a swim and a stroll. Looking at the daredevils who dive from the cliffs. Nothing for us though, just looking them is enough... Never tried the bar-restaurant, to much smokers and there are so much good restaurants...
