We went here on two days - beach lounge chairs for rent - quite comfortable. Not a real, real busy beach but very nice area. We got there at 10:30 a.m. The first day and close to 11:00 a.m. The second day and had no problem getting parking close to the beach. Worth a visit if you are in the... More

What do Pauline and myself like about Praia Gala. Everything.! We are not beach goers as such, but we do enjoy sitting in one of the beach bars/restaurants and just letting life move on around us. We find Gale a very relaxing place and it feels safe at night. No people standing in doorways offering freebies. Is there anything here... More

The beach here has some pretty aspects to it but is very crowded. The sea is extremely cold so people do not tend to swim. The restaurants by the beach are very fish orientated and do not offer snacks. I would recommend visiting after 7pm when you can enjoy a quieter walk along the beach.

A beautiful Sandy beach, excellent for the children. The waves were a little strong for my almost 4 year-olds. Gets extremely busy and is popular with the locals.

A very popular beach with the 'locals' which speaks volumes for it and it's adjoining 'cousin' beaches

Superb sandy beach with just enough rocky promontories to keep it interesting. Well served with restaurants and bars . Very good public toilet facilities.

The beach wasn't what I was expecting at all. We arrived by taxi 10:30 and it was jam packed. It was a small flat beach with the usual giant stones but way way too many people for us. We had a quick look around - there were bars all along it that were very busy serving beer at that time... More

I love this beach. You need to get there early if you want to drive as the parking gets a bit hectic, but we usually walk there. It is such a lovely beach...very long and lots of golden sand, with the odd few rocks for crab hunting. There are plenty of sun loungers to rent, and there is no music... More

If you want a break away from the madness of praia da oura this can be one option, 10 minutes by taxi, its a nice visit, with little restaurants lining the top of the beach.

Such a lovely beach. It's very popular so get there early. We arrived at just after 9 and got a parking space every time. I wouldn't think you would park so easily later on. The beach is flat, clean and sandy. You can hire umbrellas and sun beds or just take your own. You can walk along and do some... More
