We came upon the site after a very pleasant drive thru the countryside when we got there we were pleased to discuss with a group of historians, great luck as it just happened to be the equinox.
We also benefited from a little music and dance. If you visit only
one megalithic site this should be your choice

Full with history, you can find at the Almendres Cromlech a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful views.
It is not difficult to find, just follow the signs existing on the road after you leave the city of Évora on the way to the highway to Lisbon.

It was fun to drive around the countryside looking for Cromlechs, but they are only interesting for a short while. Perhaps a tour, which are available, would add some background and enhance the visit as there is no information at the site.
