Four of us senior citizens have just returned from a three day bike tour of Ypres. There cannot be many tour guides other than Carl Ooghe getting so consistently marked as 'excellent' and I just wished there was a higher category in which to put him! We were unaware of his reputation at the start but his expertise became apparent... More

My husband and I visited Ypres in early September and we were lucky enough to have Genevra as our private guide. She is passionate about WW1 and brought the whole experience to life with her detailed knowledge of the period complimented by many interesting nuggets of information. Many other guides greeted her at various sites and it would appear that... More

One of the major reasons for this trip to France was to assist a friend in finding an great uncle killed in WWI; she had done some research herself but felt that Mat and his team would be the best to assist us further and show us the battlefields. Our guide was John Anderson who was tasked to pick us... More

Make no mistake, you do need a guide and if you can afford a private one rather than travel with a coach full of tourists I think you will find it more interesting. Of course it is very sad to see that some of our fallen heroes were so young. Some of 14, 15 and 16 years of age, and... More

I used this company as I had emailed a few (at the last minute) and Genevra at Flanders Battlefields Tours was the quickest to reply. Well, I then booked onto the South Salient Tour with my 17 year old son and I am so glad that I did. Our guide, Andre, had served 37 years in the Belgian Army and... More

Whilst visiting Ypres we did the Grand Tour (North Salient) with Genevra and Extended Tour (South Salient) with Andre. In each case the maximum tour size is only 8 people so they are extremely personal with lots of opportunity to ask questions and gain knowledge. Both Genvra and Andre have such an in depth knowledge of the Battles of Ieper.... More

Myself and my 14 year old son undertook both the north and south salient tour one day after the other. I was a little worried as to how he would take to the whole subject being a 14 year old teenager, but I need not have worried. The in depth knowledge of both tour guides and the way they delivered...
