With Annette you go the whole nine yards for the whole nine hours! It's difficult to know which adjectives to use on a day tour like this, but by the end we really felt as if we knew the whole area of the three battles of Ypres which included not only the more obvious destinations but spots I imagine no... Christian drove 4 of us from Ypres to the Somme and thereafter conducted a superb tour of the relevant battlefields, memorials & cemeteries. He also tailored the trip to our specifications. Very knowledgeable. Excellent English. Would definitely use Camalou again if returning.

As a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers aged 16 and 13, we only had two days in Iepers so were very pleased we were able to secure the services of Annette & Christian. The car was very comfortable and we got collected from our accommodation and they made the tour relevant to us with Australian stories. They speak... More

My husband, 9 year old son and I did a private tour with Camalou in October this year to commemorate the 97th anniversary of the death of my husband's Great Grandfather who is buried at Ypres. The communication and organization before the tour was excellent and Annette picked us up at our hotel on time and with a warm and... More

My wife and I opted for a private tour of the Ieper Salient region whilst on a coach tour in the area and have to say we were extremely pleased with our choice, As arranged beforehand, Annette collected us from our hotel in her super new vehicle and with two Australian visitors we spent over 7 hours visiting such places... We were fortunate to select Camalou Battlefield Tours for our two day tour of Australian WW1 sites in early July. Christian's and Annette's knowledge of Australian WW1 history is outstanding and they go to great lengths to share that knowledge. My wife's second cousin died on the Somme and Christian and Annette had researched his records and took us to... More

Thanks to Christian and Annette for an enlightening four days. Their very comprehensive knowledge and easily understood explanations provided us with a complete picture. We are now able to identify the landscapes attached to the many place names we were familiar with. Walking the battlefields and then visiting the many cemeteries’ really brought home the very real nature of the... More

This is possibly the most informative and detailed journeys one is likely to encounter if you want historically accurate insights into the role of our young Australians in WW1. Both tour guides, Christian and Annette, were engaging and authentic in the wealth of information they shared about the battle fields. They planned and researched their tour to get everyone in... Four of us were escorted by Annette in late September, 2014 for a one day tour of WWI cemeteries, museums, and battlefields. It was exactly what we were interested in and very thorough. She was so very knowledgeable of all of the details of the conflict in the area. It is hard to believe how much destruction and carnage was... More

Thank you, Annette and Christian, for giving Pauline and I the wonderful experience of your two-day guided World War One Battlefields Tour on 22 and 23 July. Your knowledge of the history and events of those dark days (and later) was amazing and you kept us interested and enthralled throughout the tour. I am especially grateful to you both for... More
