Annette was our guide for the day. WE booked the tour about twelve months out and when Annette picked us up at our hotel she had researched my wife"s uncle records and the 42nd Battalion diaries. She was able to show us the places where he would have been camped and fought including the general area where he should have... More

Christan and Annette are wonderful tour guides and so knowlegable. They picked us up on time. Our hotel etc was great. They took us to all the sites and more. We were there 3 nights . Excellent and they found two brothers we were looking for. They are even helping to get the name changed on headstone as it is... More

My 80 year old mother recently traveled alone to Ypres wanting to visit the areas where 2 of her Uncles are buried in war cemetery's in Belgium. Not only did Christian and Annette manage all of her accommodation and meals, they also arranged her transport to and from Lille station. The Hotel in Ypres ( The Regina) was lovely and... More

Booked with Camalou on the basis of a recommendation from customers and we were not disappointed. We were booked into a great hotel in Ypres and picked up by Christian each morning and taken on our tour (tailored according to your nationality) of the battlefields, landmarks and cemeteries specific to the Australian troops. Excellent tour! Knowledgeable commentary from Christian. Found... More

We spent four days with Annette and Christian and, while near exhaustion on day four, appreciated every moment of their excellent presentations. Both have spent some twenty years showing people around the battlefields of Northern France and Flanders and their knowledge makes for an exceptional experience. They have at their fingertips the dates and locations of every significant action in... More

With Annette you go the whole nine yards for the whole nine hours! It's difficult to know which adjectives to use on a day tour like this, but by the end we really felt as if we knew the whole area of the three battles of Ypres which included not only the more obvious destinations but spots I imagine no... Christian drove 4 of us from Ypres to the Somme and thereafter conducted a superb tour of the relevant battlefields, memorials & cemeteries. He also tailored the trip to our specifications. Very knowledgeable. Excellent English. Would definitely use Camalou again if returning.

As a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers aged 16 and 13, we only had two days in Iepers so were very pleased we were able to secure the services of Annette & Christian. The car was very comfortable and we got collected from our accommodation and they made the tour relevant to us with Australian stories. They speak... More

My husband, 9 year old son and I did a private tour with Camalou in October this year to commemorate the 97th anniversary of the death of my husband's Great Grandfather who is buried at Ypres. The communication and organization before the tour was excellent and Annette picked us up at our hotel on time and with a warm and... More
